the geforce4mx is probabaly your best bet, still should be easy to find imo
im really not sure on your a price, its probabaly less then $100 cdn now im sure

agp = better then pci
agp used to be the standered bus for graphics cards before pci-e
chances are you probably dont have an agp bus on your board
but you said you had a voodoo? its possible

i think they take both
you would have to open up your comp and see, it should be a black slot where your video card is

i need to get a job too myself, cant keep up with the upgrades im getting. gunna cost close to $1000 this year, lol i basicly upgraded my whole system now haha
so im gunna build a second system and keep using my old parts, which are still pretty decent

next few upgrades will be my last untill i can afford my dream system (see my other post about it

The white slots are PCI, AGP is usually brown and set slightly further back than the PCI, black was the old ISA.

I know without a doubt that the gf2mx400 is an improvement in performance over the 3dfx card where the cpu is not the bottleneck because that's what I upgraded to from a voodoo3, on a p3 system. In adams case, the cpu might very well be the bottleneck, making performance a moot issue. Nevertheless, he should get the gl card and be done with the 3dfx issues if he can find one and/or afford it.

But you're right, considering the prices. They are both priced similarly ($30) and the gf4 is more widely availible, with more features. More bang for the buck, so to speak. (shoulda done my homework I guess).

Aww i just had my hopes up last night

someone offered me a celeron 1.3ghz board and processor and memory for free... but then found out it didnt work

THAT SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! .. anyway.. what do you mean by bottleneck? + could you tell me if my p2 350mhz is actually more than that cos when it starts up it says [FIXED MULTIPLIER 3.5X] .. Just wondering

Ahh.. tried the r1q2 forums

a guy called bossman told me to get the latest drivers.. which i thought i had, but obviously not cos now i can use opengl!!!! (i couldent before) so ill be able to use r1q2
