Driving home from an enjoyable Microbrew Fest and Chili Cookoff held in a fairgrounds in the nearby town of Lakeside, my wife and I chanced to spot this "Museum of Creation and Earth History" from the freeway on the way home.

Found a couple links describing the place:

Day 1 - Earth, universe created.

Day 6 is a jungle-like room, with live
animal terrariums set into the walls.

A tall chamber containing a snake hints

What's funny is they got it wrong.

The Serpent walked upright like man until God cursed him for telling Eve and Adam they could be like God if they ate from the tree of knowledge. Of course those who claim enlightenment with the ultimate truth have no clue what the serpent looked like before he was modified by the curse.

Isn't that museum in "Religulous"? I seem to recall a remark by Maher in the movie, gazing at a scene that has a man and a dinosaur co-existing, and commenting that the only other instance in which this occured, was in the Flintstones.

the basics of creationist science can be summed up adequately with words from the Museum's wiki page:

" It also has a room showing the ICR's RATE project, an effort, in conjunction with other young Earth creationist organizations, to find evidence of a young earth."

Instead of having evidence and then basing a theory on it and then testing that theory, creation science consists of having a belief and then trying your ass off to find any kind of evidence that actually supports it, even if it is nonsense and better or simpler explanations would suffice.

It is pretty much the exact opposite of scientific method, and it's pitiful that they'd attempt to legitimize it by attaching the word "science" to it as if it has any similarity to the real deal.

I could debate you guys on this.....but what is the point. When it comes to religion/atheism/creation/evolution I'm guessing the amount of people that have changed their minds over an internet debate is somewhere around 2. So, carry on.

Point? Sometimes I find the process itself fun - particularly the process of trying to narrow down the precise points of disagreement with someone.

It can also be fun because going through the process tends to require me to check my own assumptions, and do a little research, which often means I end up learning something new.

I'm currently reading Richard Dawkins' The Greatest Show on Earth: The Evidence for Evolution. It's nothing if not thorough!

If you have any doubts regarding the amount of evidence that exists for evolution, based on what I've read so far I'd definitely recommend this book. "It keeps going, and going, and going..."

Still, I'd be interested to know which aspects of evolution you currently find unconvincing.
