No crosshair running r1gl on r1q2

Hi everybody, I'm fairly new to the scene here being that I haven't played Q2 online in a looooooooong time, but I'm very excited to see that people still play this game - that's freaking awesome
. Anyway, I installed r1q2 a while back but always had this problem with not having a crosshair when using the r1gl thing; I would go to the menu in-game to make the crosshair a cross, dot, and angle, but it would never show up. Also, earlier today I tried to exec some cfg's in r1q2 with r1gl, but each time it would say 'couldn't exec [whatever config]'. If anybody can help with this, that would be freaking sweet!!!
btw, I don't know if this would help anybody in figuring out what's wrong with my r1gl thing, but I do have the source code installed in my system (for no particular reason) and I have kmquake2 stuff installed as well.

I've had the missing crosshair all the time, usually come across it when bringing quake to a friends house and running it there for the first time. I usually end up asking for white-out and putting a dot on their screen manually. Never figured out what fixed it the time we DID manage to get it working
Maybe try a crosshair pak, or several. Ones different file types, regular and .png???
Always have the impression it's been related to certain video cards, or a common setting/driver for them.
ironic, google gave me this while searching for fixes:

Update your drivers to the latest one.
There are updated Quake II opengl rendering engines such as r1gl.
For a good list checkout
http://antiche.at
or google quake-2 OR quake-ii renderer
It might be better to ask on the tastyspleen.net forum.

As for the cfg's, just sounds like they aren't there
in the right spot or spelled correctly
good luck, fragging a person who has no crosshair just isn't a true frag

Alright, I downloaded a file that contained all the original cross hairs, but when I ran r1q2 with r1gl, no cross hair still showed up. I even typed the \crosshair command in the console for 1-3 and still no luck; that changed however when I decided to give \crosshair 4 a shot because there really wasn't anything for me to lose, and sure enough a cross hair came up!!!!!!! Since \crosshair 4 worked I thought 'heck, why not try 5, 6, 7, etc.?', so I did and I found out that it goes all the way up to 13. A lot of the cross hairs look like some of the ones from Q3A, but not all of them - if I'm correct. Anyway, I'm glad I got that problem fixed, and thanks for the help Reflex - I appreciate it
. Just one more simple question:
Is there a way to make the cross hairs look smaller?

I don't see an r1q2 command to change the crosshair size.
You could always alter the pcx or pnj that is in the pak file, or look for more crosshairs.
The pak I use has a bit more than 13, my common ones are #41 and #43. Fav is just a dot though.
Aprq2 has alot of the fixes r1q2 has, plus a lot more.
One is crosshair scaling, in the menu system if I remember.

I don't worship the devil. Jesus is Lord, friend. He died for your sins. He will forgive you if you just ask.
