Yeah, I know. I live in the middle of nowhere though man. Hour and a half to the closest music store or wal-mart, and I would put money on it that neither have that cd.. I'd have to go 3+ hours away to get it, which I've done about 8x in the past year but I just didn't think to go buy it! :grrrr:

Actually, yeah, Bill Steer was in Napalm Death for a short period back in the late 80's, probably only from 88 to 89 though. Jesse Pintado was their main guitarist throughout the 1990's and the 2000's, and he was also one of the masked guitarists for the Mexican death metal band Brujeria. He died sometime in 2006 from liver failure. Too much drinkie drinkie.

I'm pretty sure Ibanez still makes the same old black and green Universe 7-string like Trey Azagthoth from Morbid Angel has always used. I think they also have one or two much cheaper 7-string models that don't have tremelo. Personally, I can't fucking stand a tremelo bridge, especially any type of Floyd Rose-ish double locking bullshit. It's just a pain in the ass to tune, it smashes the strings against the nut and deadens the shit out of the notes, over time the strings will buzz when played open on the higher strings. I just hate it, and I never really used it enough to learn how to include it in anything useful, it really just gets in my way. My next guitar will be a fixed bridge, something that I can just slap a new set of strings on, tune it up quickly, and go.

Well, I actually never put my credit or debit over the net for 2 reasons. 1) I don't spend as much money and 2) my number has never been typed over the net...

Yes, I can do money-orders and get stuff by mail (priority is an extra day longer, everything else gets here a +1-2 days than normal) but it kind of takes from the reward of going out of town (into civilization) and buying things.

I just finished up another year of school. This entire year, I had to drive 2 hours to school, then back 2 hours (constant road work and bridge repair is a bitch) 3-4 days a week. This is what I would be looking at driving, 90% of the time:

Nothing but desolate beach / national park. I live in the southern part of the Outer Banks in NC, and even more specifically, frisco village... the smallest community in my state i'm guessing. We have our own zip code and our population is way less than 1,000. Everyone knows everyone.. it sucks.

Here's the bridge that I would would cross at least 6 times a week:

It's rated the most dangerous bridge in the country, it receives less than a 1, the best a bridge can get being 100. Those sandbars look pretty cool though in this pic, they're usually not shaped up like that.

Most of you have probably heard of the outer banks, or cape hatteras which is the actual island i'm on....that has the rep for both the best fishing and best surfing on the east coast u.s.. but if not, here's a cropped map of NC that shows just hatteras island. I live half-way in between the inlet that's in the bottom left side of the image and the point(eastern tip of nc) that's in the center.

That's FN cool right there.

I did a little looking too and that place looks amazing. Does your area get touristy during summer?

Yes, very touristy. Counting tourists our population increases more than tenfold. But, not as much anymore... because of this:

Good thing Haunted is always there to save the day, on the forums and irl:

EDIT:

If you saw that link, I decided to remove it being that there's a $$ reward for whoever has information about the dirty deed. I don't want to tempt anyone lol

Uuuuuuuuuuuuuh, yeaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh. One good hurricane..... hell, one light shower even, maybe..... and that sucker's goin' bye bye. Hopefully there's more than THAT as a way to get on and off whatever island that is. Sheesh, and I thought the Army Corps of Engineers fucked up in New Orleans.

It's the only way focalor, you can go south but you have to take 2 ferries, taking around 4 hours and it puts you just as much in the middle of nowhere lol.

In 2003 I was 15 and hurricane Isabel hit. Isabel made Katrini look like a complete joke, as do many other hurricanes I've experienced like emily, floyd, etc etc. The difference between us and new orleans though is that all of our buildings meet the highest extreme weather codes. Katrina was an above average hurricane still, though. The place where I'm at work right now (the village south of where I reside on the southern most pt of the island, 5 min drive) has had more hurricanes touch it than any area in the world. Anyway, Isabel's(category 4-5 the whole time) eye wall dragged along the village I'm at now. More importantly though, Isabel took a straight path at us from the ocean, which usually doesn't happen....fortunately. Usually hurricanes come up beneath us a little about 50m, then exit while hitting us going NW(following their warm water fuel line, the gulf stream), which causes the west side to flood. This hurricane on the other hand came from the ocean, and so did a massive storm surge. Massive as in the biggest wave height, before the buoy was destroyed, was 87ft. On shore it was a solid 25, then shrinking down to 5-10 by the time it hit all of the houses. When it passed, I took my boat out and immediately noticed several houses floating in the water, as well as a new inlet that had been cut that was more than a half mile wide.

I think 1 person died, but around 20 families had to swim out of their houses. A girl in my class told me a few weeks later that she had to dive down and swim out of a dog door, lol. School was cancelled for 3 weeks, then the biggest headboat on the island which is about 70ft started acting as a school bus and shuttling the 80-90 kids, k-12, that needed to go to school. This went on for about 3.5 months.. Isabel was a bad hurricane, but I must add that around here we get Northeasters sometimes that are just as bad as hurricanes. the 'Ash Wednesday' storm wasn't a hurricane and it formed the deepest inlet in north carolina, that same inlet I referred to 2 posts ago in the picture.

As for the bridge and why it's so dangerous, 3/4 of the pilings aren't even touching the sea floor--in fact, you can swim under them. So... it's floating. The bridge work that they have been doing for years on it has nothing to do with this, the main problem, being that it's basically not fixable. Well, it's fixable, but nature will just do the same exact thing and it would be a waste of money. Currently it's being proposed to build the 2nd longest bridge in the country, in way calmer waters to replace this one. This has 'currently' been going on for 3-4 years, no progress so far.

hahah i didn't mean to change this into story time, my bad.

I've had my fair share of hurricanes as well down in here Florida. The legendary one of the past few decades was Andrew in '92 (cat 5), but it hit the worst about an hour south of me. Had a couple Category 2-3s come directly over my neighborhood though. No electricity for weeks =  :help:

My friends in the village south of mine had no electricity or water for 3.5 months. Waking up at 5am to stand in line at a fema community shower and then catching the make-shift ferry to school...
