Twas a good time. Great maps too... well, with the exception of one in particular that was kinda WTF. Would've been hard to pick a winner out of those, they were all very good. Yes, even yours, Peewee.

Was a total blast. Thanks everyone for stopping in and giving these maps a shot. We even got Maric out of hiding to join into a game. Definitely one of the most memorable games of q2 I've ever played. Best news of the night? FRIAR GOT FIRST PLACE!!!!

Loved it.

I am usually tied up from mid-afternoon to evening on Sundays bc I prep for my week ahead but it was great to enjoy some time to get a few maps in with you guys. Thank-you long weekend.

I loved all those maps. Especially your Tree Yendor...cool idea. Lol I figured out the quad secret but for the life of me couldn't get the railgun.

Christ, Maric has a bazillion to choose from. I remember back when I was in EoM and was picking maps for the map config rotation on the server. I was loading up each and every map loaded on the server and running around in them a little to see which ones were good ones to use. It took me forever to get through all the Maric maps, probably 60 or more, I don't know. That's a good idea though, all maps by one author. Marics maps are good. LeRays are good. One mapper in particular who I've never heard anything about, but seems to have some really great maps: Jay or QMass or something. I dunno what his name is other than Jay, because that's what it says when I load the map. All the map names start with qmass2dm, and they usually have very unusual names like "Prostate Paralysis" and "Thundercock", all the names have something to do with genitalia.

Jesus Christ. When the hell do you ever sleep or do anything else, Maric? That's like 1 map per month since Q2 was released. Say hello to your old lady, she probably misses you!

Q2 maps take what, 1 hour to compile now vs days way back when?

I remember actually running out of ram in a 512mb machine when compiling a map!

It's an amazing interview that left us off with a whole bunch of little pearls of wisdom from one of the greats. He also called himself a "hack". I'm sure in some strange way he was just being modest.
