to promote the Q2C contest, IR500 or boobies?

EDIT: if we're not doing the Q2C this weekend, I'd love to do AvP Q2.

The maps will be available this sunday. We're going to start this one off at 8:00pm EST this Sunday. I'll update with a more detailed post tomorrow.

I was going to ask you about that actually. I'm not sure if quadz has time to sync up all the maps in time, as well as extend the maxclients on dm2. So if you're willing then we can go for a friar server. The only consideration is that X7 expressed interested in using the handicap feature again. So it's really up to who has the time to set up their server first.

But anyway, the dm2 server is now 64 clients, and the rotation has been changed to:

macdmponder pwpipes1 yggdrasil henneck2dm1 tsh2dm1 leray35 shizz1 spirit2dm4 monster10 marics108

Which are the winning maps, in (ascending) order of judges scores.

(The regular dm2 maps are all available via mymap.)

Edit: I've removed q2c7_mikemc from the rotation, but it is still available on mymap. It's a tiny one-room map.

Awesome!

This year's Q2C mapping contest has some very nice and some very unique maps, which I unexpectedly got the pleasure of previewing and judging, due to some schedule conflicts.

Should be a blast.

edit: the ir500 will probably be the weekend of the 12-13th. if we wanna do it as the splatterfest, the 13th will work. Still trying to get the map workin with the mod, but if all else fails I'll substitute it with another to make the deadline.

O.k., sorry dude. I think that we are going to attract a lot of casual players who just want to view the maps. So the handicap mod should hopefully level some things out so that everyone can enjoy them. So DM2 it is. I'll make a big fancy announcement later tonight.

The source is available via anonymous CVS, as:

cvs -d:pserver:anonymous@tastyspleen.net:/var/cvs/r1q2-ssp login
cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous@tastyspleen.net:/var/cvs/r1q2-ssp co r1q2-ssp

Then just

cd r1q2-ssp/binaries
make game

The .so should appear in: r1q2-ssp/binaries/game/gamei386.so

Looks good for tonight

There will be 4 or more of the map makers playing tonight.

Maric going to try to make it, his connect is via wireless USB modem with serious bandwidth caps
