i was just a newbie (still am but besides the point) when dael graced us with his presence, he was a dude to admire and it was fantastic clanning with him for a short time for euroq2l, he is missed for sure.

but seriously to anyone who actually knew the guy yall speculators who didnt even play when he did just sound very dumb

Like I said in IRC, maybe it's just the mystery of how someone who is so loved and respected, could drop off the face of the earth do easily that draws people into the whole daelmun situation.

Also maybe it's the people who haven't met him, and going through his posts, they tend to get a little left out over not meeting someone so respected. Including me.... to an extent....

To my knowledge, it's been about 3-4 years (?) since he was last active (Again, what do I know?

) some people will just have to accept that he'll never come back. Maybe he might though, people will always have their opinions, whether or not there is proof of his death or not.

A few months ago I asked sidelines several times straight up on dm if he was daelmun with no response whatsoever. He does seem to have flawless jumps like daelmun and can do snap rails faster than anyone I've played against. He nailed me with a snap rail jumping to mega on dm1 the other day and it was so quick I swear I didn't even see the his model turn.

However, if he was daelmun, it seems really odd that he would not even touch any of the tdm servers and only play dm ffa.

i think ive seen sidelines connect to a tdm server once or twice when no one was around

i could be mistaken though...

and honestly, if it was dael trying to avoid chit chat and get away from any sort of drama and just wanting to be left alone so he can have fun and play, dm would be the place to do it and staying off the tdm servers would be a wise choice

Daelmun wouldn't hide from drama because he had none, everyone who played with em liked him and he was a cool guy. I could see if he felt ostracised and needed to hide but seriously, the dude had nothing but friends....no drama at all..

despite if he is dead or still alive it would be interesting to know when sidelines first appeared on the servers after daelmun vanishing. If haunted has solid proof that dael is dead well we will just have to accept that he is i spose

He was someone irreplaceable in q2. Just playing him made me a better player.

just seems strange to me that if u ask someone if they are someone else they would reply straight back no if they weren't, however if someone was that person but didn't want you to know, the no reply is the perfect response to give.

If he's familiar with the name daelmun I'm sure that he takes it as a compliment and rather just leaves you hanging.

Reading a previous thread, it says sidelines was first seen in 2009.

If he came in 2 years later after he disappeared, then him simply recognizing the name daelmun might be a little suspicious.

daelmun was the most active q2scene admin/poster/interviewer.... most known person in eu q2 aside from the top pros. not suspicious if someone knows his name
