Bots partially work in CTF maps; the maps have bot nav points so they'll move around but won't go for the flag unless it's already in their path for something else. And even if they grab the opposing team flag, they don't seem to capture it for a point. And I don't think they know how to use the grapple

The easiest way to start a CTF map with bots is to create an Online/Local lobby as normal and start a CTF map, then in console:
bot_skill 5 (set to Nightmare)
bot_minClients 8
OR manually add one by one:
addbot

If you don't want to create a lobby for whatever reason, then before you start the CTF map in console, you need to set:
deathmatch 1
teamplay 0
ctf 1

Sweet. Thank you! I saw in the chat files they had CTF team binds. Maybe a patch will give them full CTF knowledge. If Eraserbot could do it in 1998 these ones should!

Quake / Quake 2 Remastered - Bots and CTF

I wanted to futz around with the Q2 rerelease bots so I grabbed PakExplorer (very old school I know) and extracted the bots folder from pak0.pak.

There is full CTF support in the code. Whether or not it actually functions I have yet to fiddle about with. I gotta check the cmdlist for bot commands to see if it's comparable to Eraser's or Gladiator's.

Update: attempting to load CTF maps from the console loads them in single-player mode and bots can't be added to them. Think I'll need to learn a whole new set of cvars to fiddle with this stuff. I want my CTF-playing bots, gawsh durnit!

At some point you gotta learn to say fuck it and just ignore things that don't really effect you. Here in the USA, everyone has the right to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. Stop pursuing what makes you miserable and get on with the happy part.

So I know I'm necroing this thread and you and I have rarely seen eye to eye on politics... but I agree with this 100%! As long as you don't try to make me follow your beliefs, or try to hurt me for not following your beliefs, or try to make laws based on your beliefs... I don't really give a flying fuck if you believe the universe was created at 2.30pm last Tuesday by two Scottish dudes driving an ice cream van to Trancentral.

Well I tried some Quake Champions (runs SWEET on Ultra settings with my new hardware upgrades!) but my skill level is SO far behind everyone else's I gave up in disgust after two matches.
