yep, not a problem. We have the common rcon password, so no issues. Assuming the map you want is already on the server.

in preparation, I bought a dedicated server in Dallas that was just delivered yesterday. I'm not sure if it's hosted in where TS is in Hivelocity, but it's VERY close (1ms away from TS). This one is not equivalent in scale, but the TS server is overspec'd anyway.

It seems the gameservers, the forum and the database for the forum are all on different servers, and I'm pretty sure they're all virtual machines running inside some other. 538GB and counting...

Oh this is terrible news. I didn't know quadz as well as some of you, but we did work on a few things here and there together. His willingness to help anyone out with anything set him far above the rest of us. We are all lucky to have crossed paths with him.  :'(

[...] Side note, if anyone wants to try Q2Pro on OS X, please give this a whirl. It requires that you have pak0.pak and friends installed in ~/.quake2/baseq2.

Kapolsky will be very happy, he's been using the stock 3.21 client...

I don't think he was accusing you of anything with juxtaposing those quotes, claire [...]

My apologies, I had to fight with multiple people over stupid shit today at work, so I've been on the defensive all day.

I'm fairly certain the latency issue is just in presentation. As muerte said, try forcing protocol 35, you can do this by appending the protocol number to the end of the connection string in the console:

connect 198.7.63.227:27910 35
connect 198.7.63.227:27910 36

If you have a good quality connection your ping should appear lower (slightly) and much more stable using 35. I've noticed my ping "cycles" using 36 where it starts out low and appears higher and higher and then goes back down and repeats. I've never noticed any affect on my gameplay, so I'm assuming it's related to this.

- lack of anticheat support
- source is available for downloading and compiling own q2pro client

meaning
- you can add whatever you want to adopt client to your wishes (c) claire
- with few lines of codes q2pro becoming after compiling 'legal' wallhack client (c)Revo

both EDL admins and server owners in EU last EDL season

Meaning what exactly? I've never done anything questionable at all, in this community or in running EDL/EDGE. In fact I've worked very hard at staying impartial with all the drama the euro players try to stir up.  As for revo, I can't really say. Although impartiality is not really his strong suit.

I've never added anything to my q2pro client. I compiled my own (because I can) because I wanted to play with the IPv6 connectivity recently added. Actually since r1ch released a newly approved version of q2p with anticheat support I've been using that.

Haha, I'm just joking. That's from one of my servers in France. This however is really me right now:

I'm always looking for someone.  Where are you located? What times are you usually playing?

My NJ server is housed with Choopa.net. They're probably out of your budget directly, but I'll look around to see if someone in their datacenter has cheaper servers.

I'm assuming you're looking for a dedicated server? If a KVM VPS would work buyvm.net is VERY good (in Choopa) and rather affordable.

For DC, I have a KVM directly with Leaseweb and they're awesome. I find that most euro players ping the best to DC. Players in NL can usually get low 80s.

For me (being in Upstate NY) I ping better to NJ, but not much:

C:\Users\joe>ping dc.packetflinger.com

Pinging dc.packetflinger.com [198.7.63.227] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 198.7.63.227: bytes=32 time=32ms TTL=53

    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 31ms, Maximum = 33ms, Average = 32ms

C:\Users\joe>ping nj.packetflinger.com

And they seem like they're only really about 8ms apart:
[root@nj ~]# ping dc.packetflinger.com

I'm sad that T4 is gone, Kapolsky and I must have played thousands of duels on that server over the past few years.  It will be fondly remembered.

tastyspleen.net / European' Mute (at least) PLEAASSSSEEEE
« on: May 18, 2016, 11:45:15 AM »
European' (the player) is constantly talking shit about daughter's "sexual exploits." You all might not know, but she is only 6 years old. He is fully aware of this though. I've put up with this for well over a year now, I've had enough.

Today he joins DM, goes spectator, changes his name to mine and continues on like usual. Then he starts abusing wallfly by having it spam invites to all connected servers as me.

I think he should be muted. Talking shit is one thing, assuming another player's identity and then abusing wallfly and all your other servers (and mine as I have 15 servers connected with wallfly) is something else. What does it take to get this guy muted? Nothing he has to say contributes at all to this community.

Logs from today:

Any help?  :please:

I can confirm the q2pro build with AC locks up if you do connect/reconnect or use goto with wallfly. On my windows 7 Pro x64 laptop. I'll try on my desktop when I get home. The client is also listed as "???" in the aclist output.

I just tried the AC compatible q2pro build and it locks up anytime you do connect/reconnect or use the goto command with wallfly....
