Well hey!

Hope you and your family are doing well.

(I'd become resigned to the notion you might be in actuality deceased!)

Oh yea.
Me too!!
We were already celebrating his life!

General Ownage / Re: How quickly can you make Stargazer disconnect?
« on: June 14, 2018, 07:50:24 AM »
Stargazer has always seemed to be that way.  That is why he plays the mod he does now, so he can get 500 frags and only die 5 times.
I don't know much about the mod he is playing, but if someone else joined and fragged him a couple of times, he would definitely disconnect.

The mod he plays is coop with friendly fire activated!

Ah, that sounds kinda familiar. Perhaps I or someone else posted about this same thing before either here or in IRC. Seems like there was some dude who had his friends playing on the school network or something. Still... seems kinda odd that all of them would have the same name. Only logical explanation I can think of for that one would be if he installed the game from a CD-R with each one having the same copy of his personal CFG.

Have you seen newbs playing as "Kaeru"? Probably yes, i've seen many too.
I discovered later that there was a copy around, in south american websites, with a config with that name.

Clearly you're here to make the world a better place. Thank you. No, really, thank you. This isn't sarcastic passive aggressive trolling at all, in case you need help in the vision department. ;D

It's highly unlikely that it's a physical keyboard problem. If anything, he'd hit a key and NOTHING would happen. Network issue? I was gonna suggest that at first, but it appears the demo is a DM on your own machine. If mouse and keyboard inputs are lagged, then it's either a config setting gone awry, or a driver not working properly. You said the config was fine, so... it's likely driver related.

If your keyboard is USB, try plugging it into another unused USB port. You didn't do something like attempt to overclock a USB port did you? Those kinds of changes can sometimes be impossible to reverse and damage the hardware.

Or you could have some kind of malware running in the background that is taking up the resources the mouse and keyboard would use to report quickly. Which isn't exactly "driver" related, but kinda. You'd probably notice lagged behavior with your browser and other things too though. Maybe try some different scans for rootkits and such, or use the Windows Backup thing to revert back to an earlier state before it occurred.

wtf is happening here?! lol I just found this topic now.

I already changed their ports, and reinstalled the drivers, etc.
Also this issue only happens in the game. In the windows evertyhing is normal.

The weird thing is that sometimes it works fine!
for ex, this afternoon it was bad, same as u saw in the demo.. but now at night, i was playing and it was normal and smooth!! Maybe if i go open the game again now it will be screwed again!

The hardest part of that challenge would be finding someone with a 7 string bass to borrow from them. I don't see the point of a 7 string bass. If you're gonna need to play notes that high, might as well just let the guitar player in the band handle it.

I've played around on a 7 string guitar a few times. I can understand the usefulness of an extra lower string on a 7 string guitar, but it's not something I'd wanna play on as my main guitar. The neck width takes some getting used to, and it's not as comfortable and effortless to play on as a 6 string. But I've also tried to play some of these newer 8 and 9 string guitars I've occasionally seen sitting around at Guitar Center... no way. Not happening. The fretboard is WAY too wide to play comfortably. Best of luck to you yo-yo's who wanna drop the money on one of those things. Count me out.

what about a 24 string bass?

seems very ergonomic

Also you mentioned the mouse is new? What about keyboard etc? is that new too? did this problem occur before or after the new mouse?

the mouse is a Nox Krom Koban.
the keyboard is an 8 yr old microsoft media
it occured after the new mouse, some months later

what a terrible shame. You don't know what unplayable is

That was constructive  :raincloud:

I have no idea what caused it, but I had something like that happen to me (optical mouse).
My issue started off happening rarely, but over time it happened more often.
I updated drivers, cleaned everything I could, etc., but it did not fix the problem.
I changed my mouse and the problem went away.

If i press the keys faster and many at the same time IN THE GAME, the PC starts beeping like an old machine from the 90's  :dohdohdoh:  :eyecrazy:

thats not supposed to happen right?
