Hexchat ( http://www.hexchat.org/ ) is another good irc progam. It's free for Windows and Linux and it's based on Xchat.

Just an update, I managed to produce a statically linked binary yesterday.  The Makefile has been cleaned up significantly and now includes the option `BUILD_STATIC` which defaults to `NO.`  Anyone can now produce a static binary by simply changing that option to `YES.`

What packages do I need to produce a statically linked binary ? Im using ubuntu 10.04 LTS Lucid Lynx.

The console message says: 'This server requires the r1ch.net anticheat module...'

I have tried downloading the anticheat file, as advised, however my antivirus software indicates that the anticheat download is a 'trojan', and automatically deletes it.

Any advice around this would be appreciated.

Q2 console guide :

http://www.cs.rochester.edu/research/quagents/console_commands.htm

Maybe its wise to put this list in the same format on the tastyspleen forum/server. (a Q2 console guide button at the top of the screen with all the other buttons) Don't depend on external websites.

So that this community becomes the ultimate place for everything you want to know about quake II.

Add this to our config and see if it helps :

set gl_swapinterval "0"
set gl_ext_swapinterval "0"
set gl_ext_pointparameters "0"
set gl_finish "0"

Works for me with a ati card

The orange lighting is because Stroggos is an alien planet and the walls are coated with rust and crusty, corroded remains of human marines. :)

I wanted to take the test. But it says the website is like shut down.

Have you ever considered a career at archive.org? They have all kinds of neat stuff from, like, a half decade ago. :)

 :lolsign: hehehe good one. :bravo:
