Hello Quake2 Community!   

Just wanted to say hi to all. 

A big thanks goes out to Rail Wolf, the Admin, who helped get the Mootown Chaos Revived server back up and running. 

We play Q2 Chaos on the Mootown Chaos Revived server, every weekend on Sat. & Sun. @ 12:00 PM PST -CA Time.

SlingBlade[TnT]

We had some bad/sad news recently...to report about SlingBlade[TnT], a Q2 Chaos player.
We have a small Quake2 Chaos following but he was one of our pals plus an Ace Chaos player.
Don't know if any of you know him but thought I'd share in the Quake2 Community anyway.
We got the news from his brother Hawk[TnT] "My brother has had a stroke.  His right side has no movement and has a vision issue.
He is currently in a rehab and maybe months before we will be able to tell if function will improve"
-- SlingBlade[TnT] is in our thoughts and prayers.

Hi all,

I came to know quadz  just online through the TS Forum for many years.  He was a big help to me with Mootown server issues and  always gave me good advice.   

--Maybe a few of you could appreciate quadz's view on life he shared with me:

 "I feel so different from day to day, but try to adhere to a set of core principles."

"I value freedom of speech; freedom of association; individual universal rights (as opposed to collective rights) ;etc."

RIP--quadz will be sorely missed.

Trouble Shooting / !!

Hi gang,

I have some good news about the Mootown Chaos server,  remedying  the kicking issue, my friends. 

I want to Thank MrG[DRGN] who helped me out  with the kicking problem.    

 After his suggestion to make sure that in the server's cfg , this cvar is set like so:  set bot_log_only "1"   //bot detection is only logged when set to 1.
 Ever since implemented , not one KICK!   So happy!   Thank you so much MrG!

Hi Gang,

JFYI: The kicking on the Mootown server, it's ongoing. Our situation is dual pronged.  We have issues (bugs) with Admin & the Mod Chaos as well. Even when the bot protection for the Admin is turned off, it still kicks.  We have only a work-around to get back on Mootown once a player is kicked.  Our maps last for 13min. unless players get to 40 before then.  Return in 13 mins or less, allowing ample time for the new map to engage, for success.

The kicks aren't (personal).  I myself gets kicked just like the rest of you. It's an equal opportunity kick.  I'm sorry this is happening to fellow players. 

We all know it's inconvenient and frustrating but we make it work.  Till someone updates Admin and addresses the bugs, we'll have to do our kick work-arounds.

Please inform others about the Mootown Server kick work-around.

--I agree with Beav on the Marics maps, which were some of the greatest Quake 2 maps out there. 

I do feel grateful for this opportunity...to be able to listen in on the meeting with Maric, who didn't realize how good he was with his map making skills. 

Maric maps were always my favorite Quake 2 maps back in the day and now.  Maric maps live on...in the Mootown server. 

Thanks so much for sharing this with us Reefer and Jehar for doing your part in making this a reality! 

I love the fact that a bit of Quake 2 history will live on and that Maric should be recognized for his talents and the part he played in Quake 2 history. You all made it happen!  YOU ROCK!!!

Quake / Q2 Chaos Mod link

Hi Quakers!

For those of you who want a change from the normal Q2 game play, give the mod Chaos a try. To make it easy for you, I left a link to get the necessary downloads, etc. to be fully equipped with the added features this mod provides.

We usually have Q2 Chaos scheduled for Saturday's or Sundays @ 5:30 pm PST weekly. You can check either day if you're interested. The server is on the west coast in (Calif.).

Place: Mootown Chaos Revived (New) IP # 172.251.202.99 (This week Sat. May 7th, Chaos is scheduled for 5:30pm PST.)

It's a fun mod and we've been playing it for over 5 1/2 yrs now, since we brought it back.  We love to have you join us for some good old fashion Chaotic fun!

I checked and Wallfly is on the server.  Whoo-hoo!  Thanks so much!  One problem though, Mootown isn't showing on your website.  I noticed you used the old IP #172.250.233.240, so it's still shows timed-out. If you could please use the DNS # mootown.moo.com so the IP # will remain constant.  If not, here's Mootown's new IP# 172.89.165.19:27910
