do you have a pak that mutes all the annoying as fuck map sounds? i know they are out there, get rid of wind and whatever that annoying shit is on ztn and such... would love to be able to hear rail hum, but wind and shit cause more problems than the benefits of hearing rail hum... so im currently using s_ambient 0.... one reason i really like q2pro (even though i dont use it lol) is cause it supports s_ambient 2 to mute all enviornment ambient sounds while keeping sounds generated from entities

irtdm kicks for any failed file checks, and is more closely monitored aside from that making it one of the most secure servers as far as cheating goes

Why doesn't vanilla, DM or any other server kick for failed file checks? especially when u have people like absinth who fail 8 or more every time they connect. i saw a guy connect the other day with 27 failed files, not to say they r all bad but still

Because It's the same thing with forced AC. A lot of people have legitimately modified files, and if we kick every single one of them, we will lose ALOT of players like we would if we forced AC.

I use an high resolution weapons pak from Realistic webpage and im kicked from almost european servers for modified files.
In TS and IRTDM everything is fine (i dont even have failed file checks), but when i want to play in europe i have to move the pak to desktop

probably cause dervs file checks know about the high res models or somethin...

any modified model is generally bad except for the high res ones, and i dont really see a point for those even unless you are recording video

seems pointless to even have an anti cheat system then. i don't really know how it all works but to me it seems you only get caught cheating if you have anti cheat installed, and even then even if you are using spiked models you can still connect to any server even with anti cheat because it won't kick you? I doubt you would lose players either, if u r able to set a kick message you could have it say please remove your modified files, so all they would have to do is remove their paks or remove whatever with pakexplorer. And i know someone will say "oh well people are noobs" if someone can install a pak, they have the brains to remove a pak

failed file checks are basically unknown files.... it will still catch you for spikes if you are definitely using spikes

well.. i figured, why should i be the only one who uses stock. so i made a pak that i liked. no it doesn't have spiked models vae..

lol plenty of people run stock... id say not that many people run a ton of crazy modifications to the game honestly

its not like running stock is a disadvantage, using a new pak isnt going to make you ANY better

yeah teams would be about the only thing... hard to tell one skin apart from another with stock skins, however... ffa and 1v1, no problem
