Odd screen display

Was playing on Vanilla last night on the Cool1 map and every time I died I got this black menu screen from Duke Nukem. I don't have the game installed. It disappeared when the match ended and went to the next map. here's a screenshot and the Duke portion enlarged.

So this is something from another game, that only happened during this one map? That's messed up, I've never heard of such a thing let alone what it could possibly be. I kinda get the feeling that it might be something bad

That's not even from Duke3d itself - it's from the mapping app for the Build engine. Very odd indeed. Is it actually in q2 itself or is it opening a new window?

It's just as you see it on the screenshot. Its part of your "death" shot. Only seen it that one time. Once in a blue moon I will also get, in the players score layout, instead of the small icon shot, the actual pcx layout of the skin, showing front, back sides etc of the complete skin laid out flat as you would see in a graphics editor. Quite rare though.

looks like the small scoreboard image for the 12th place player's custom skin is using an image that's not the right size..

I'd check your player model directory for that image, probably in .pcx format.
