In the new map tastydm2.bsp recently put up on the server there is an advert for the channel #tastyspleen on irc.enterthegame.org which I have recently been idling in.

People need to be warned: There's somebody in there with a kiddie nuking script who uses it.

Might be an idea to root this problem out if you want to expand the population of the irc room that is being advertised.

I was disconnected twice by the fool for absolutely no reason. I know you'll probably think I asked for it but I don't carry my gaming quirks into the social domain, at least not that much anyway.

Be warned anyway about this room ... be careful who you piss off.

I was idling there when you got disconnected. Are you sure it wasn't some fluke internet connection problem?

If I were to find anyone on the channel executing malicious scripts on others, I'd do my best to ban them.

People have been hanging out there for months - this is the first such accusation I've heard.

I remember saying words to the effect of "screw you guys I'd disconnect" in response to a threat of chaingunthemonkey.bsp, which I personally found hilarious, and I had a disconnect....which NEVER happens on ETG. So I reconnected (my ghost was still there) and was promptly disconnected again.

Sorry...too much of a coincidence. I was nuked. I know you were there, console, and God knows I've done enough to be kicked and banned from your servers, plenty of times, which is easy for you to do so I know it wasn't you.

I'm not that good at irc and scripts and things but I know when something is wrong.

I will continue on #tastyspleen idlers club because I sometimes find it entertaining, funny and even enlightening (like irc is)....shame it's spoiled sometimes.

i was there when that happened. nobody spoke up about messing with you. enterthegame is not a very good server. it is pretty unstable. but it is where ALL of the quakers are, so there we are. eyestrain has created another server and we can have all of our channels there, i already have about six or so there. contact him about it. i dont want to post it because it is his baby not mine. but it is STABLE. no drops!!

i have never seen anything malicious in #tastyspleen, so i'd be surprised if it were a regular causing problems there. unfortunately, i know very little about irc even though i have been using it for eight or more years.

It is not my server, repeat, NOT my server. It is a friend of mines server, and could possibly sustain up to 300 people.
Its pextris's server, so any questions/comments/things should be query to him.

I confronted who I thought it was on a Q2 server and was threatened with something along the lines of "If I get banned from ETG #tastyspleen then I'll backtrace your IP and take everything off your computer..."

Not being a hax0r I do not know if he is capable of following his threat through.

Anyway I can't afford to have my computer compromised like this so, unfortunately ETG is now out of bounds for me. Shit that it has had to come to this.

Thats right toxic, you just outright accuse me and my clan of, hacking the chat server, and you should be ashamed of yourself. I apologize for the threat tho, at least it isnt an death type.

I think the simple solution is to move #tastyspleen to another net.

yeah that would be cool except there aren't any q2 players on any other networks (except euros on quakenet) :P
