bigger ammo numbers n text!!!

if you play a high resolution and wish u had bigger ammo and text try gl_hudscale 1.1 or higher , till you get the size you want

True, however...

...I don't know it looks on anyone elses end, but it looks like a hosed-down pile of monkey shit on the driveway on my screen. It draws an ugly line on the left and top edges of the transparent corners of the pcx files.

In 1024x768 resolution, the scoreboard comes out kinda small. If you're like me and resize the screenshots to make them smaller for posting purposes, you end up being barely able to read the scoreboard unless you use conchars with black backings. If having larger HUD items is what you desire for screenshot purposes, I'm sure you could write an alias that would first switch your resolution to something like 800x600, then restart the video, then take the screenshot, then switch it back to your normal resolution, then restart the video again. I'm not sure about that though, it could possibly end up not working. I know that if I take a screenshot at the end of a map and close out the game directly at the beginning of the next map, it ends up not keeping the screenshot even though it says it's done saving.

mine looks perfectly fine cept its slightly slightly blurry on 800x600 , im using some thing numbers like the ones on xtyfes pak

I had the same problem, this fixed it...  set gl_noscrap "1"  along with the set gl_hudscale "1.1"

According to r1gl config generator:
Avoid using the scrap, a texture built up of smaller textures. If you see textures 'leaking' into other textures, especially if using HUD scaling, enable this.
