Playing demo files with extension *.mvd2

Hey Guys,

I just downloaded a few demos of purri and damiah and came across the file extension *.mvd2.  When I try to play one, it gives an error message that previously I fixed by using r1q2 to play, but this time it's not working.

Does anyone know about this new type of demo?  What is it?

It's a multiview demo - ie, all the POVs recorded into one file. You need Q2PRO to play it.

Just curious - is that essentially a serverdemo?  Or totally different format?

It's essentially a serverdemo with proper delta and other necessary information (per-client printfs, etc) recorded for accurate playback. The Q2PRO client runs a pseudo-game DLL that allows the user to use chasecam, scoreboard, etc when watching. MVD can also be streamed, allowing unlimited spectators (optionally on a separate server) with a time delay to view a live game. I plan to support it in R1Q2 once the code has settled down.
