invite! command

Greetings, Salutations, and Defenestrations!

Finally added an "invite" command.  Been wanting to try this for years, finally got around to coding it.

Not sure to what degree it will be abused...

Basically, from any given tastyspleen server, you can say:

invite!

...and wallfly will broadcast an invitation to all servers, for people to GOTO whatever server you're on.

(On TDM servers, wallfly will use say_team, so only spectators will see invites.  (In theory. This has not been tested yet.))

An invite can only be sent every N seconds, from a given server. (N is currently 120.)


Example: if JoeBob[FOO] is on ts500, and says:

JoeBob[FOO]: invite!

Then all other tastyspleen servers will see:

WallFly[BZZZ]: YO! JoeBob[FOO] INVITES YOU TO GOTO TS500 - tastyspleen FFA 500 frag tourney server !


Another example, this time with optional message:

JoeBob[FOO]: invite! come get some, biyatches!

WallFly[BZZZ]: YO! JoeBob[FOO] INVITES YOU TO GOTO TS500 - come get some, biyatches! !


Anywayyyy... we'll see how it goes.  Hopefully it's not too spammy...


NOTE: In case it wasn't clear, this is an invitation broadcast system.  There is no support for narrowcasting to a particular server, or a particular player on a server.


P.S. ... One way I think it might be exploited, is some jackass will hop quickly from server to server, doing invites on each one, thereby getting around the timelimit that is enforced on a per-server basis, causing spam.  I didn't have time to code a global timelimit for invites from a given person's IP... So until I can get around to coding that, if I see people abusing the command in this way, I will probably just globally mute them.

The personal invites would be great to see...but it might hit a bump if your target is a spooffer

Despite that I think that the ability is very cool. It can be used to gather players at a server that normally doesn't gain much visitors, like Jail Break. Awesome!

  I would never do that,

however when it comes to using the invite to spam bad jokes to all servers I make no promises.
