So I was playing quake2 and naymlis made a joke about 'callvote randomizeteams'. I dont see this as being that bad of an option, hell if nobody wanted it they could just vote no, right? But anyway if passed, the active players that are on teams get randomly placed. Could also work with like a 3vs4 scenario, it randomizes 6 and drops the 7th person so they have to sit that game?  Although I'm sure nobody would ready up if they didnt like the teams, but maybe we could get r1ch to code it in? I dunno, just brainstorming here...seems like a neat idea. Anyone?

I agree with you, it would likely end up stacking teams 50% of the time.. But, leaving it up to players makes the teams stacked an even higher % of the time so... 

It's kind of silly to suggest rich, but there's really THAT many people who care about winning in simple, meaningless dm1 pick ups that they stack at all costs. Not all people are like this but enough are to mention it.

In the CFT mod there is already this ability and sometimes it works and other times it didn't. 

Most times we assume teams will be fair, based on skill, but teams always become stacked in TDM and CFT.  The code is already out there, not sure how easy it would be to apply to TDM.

I did think it worked well, it would shift up the teams and then allow people to fix if need be.  Instead of teams remaining as is, until people decided to change.  If that makes sense.

Haunted beat me to it, but yeah, currently teams are stacked MUCH more than 50% of the time anyway.

I think it's a great idea.  Gives TDM more of a variety.
