I voted not to mute him. If people try to figure out why he can't view the textures on maps and get him all set up with a good client .exe I think he might actually unbind his killswitch and be able to play. Once he gets a chance to bust a nut all his frustrations will subside.

This might surprise you Focalor, but Crawler wasn't the other no vote - I also voted not to mute him. 

I don't necessarily subscribe to Sigma's evaluation of the causes of  Crawler's attitude. Personally I think Crawler just enjoys trying to get a rise out of people. However, I do respect Sigma and his opinions, so I'm willing to entertain the notion that if we help Crawler, his attitude will improve. Considering that there are far greater irritants in the community who also go unmuted, and considering those who have been given second chances, it's worth a shot.

I would like to see him make an appearance on the forums and hear his side of the story. But in the meantime, Sigma, I'm curious why you take what he had to say in your chat with him at face value? If he really enjoys the game, but find the lack of textures frustrating, why do we never see him on vanilla or dm, where the majority of maps are stock and would likely work for him? I've only ever seen him on railz and mutant (unless he is aliased elsewhere.) Did this come up in your discussions with him?

I believe it has to do with the type of players on the Vanilla servers...spammers and spawn shooters. I can only imaging how frustrating it would be taking into account his system problems.

I used to think so, but in reality it's a small portion of players that do any real shit-disturbing. If you're referring to rampant camping, YES! INDEED! But most of them suck at it. They don't realize that camping makes them an easy frag.

Yes, I remember those days of the past when I had an optimistic view of humanity. Since then I've learned that 99% of people do not and will not change. Perhaps Crawler could fit into that 1% and restore my faith in humanity just a little bit. But while he's working on doing that, I'll hope in one hand and shit in the other and see which one fills up first.
