Whats with these newbies as admins?

The pattern is that the people who have done / do this to me, all seem to neglect their warnings and persist to keep coming for more.

Except that, for some reason, this doesn't seem to happen very often to the other 18 people in the Tourney Referees group.  (Only about seven of them are still active... but even counting when they all were active.)

As such, I can't help but conclude that some aspect of your behavior, attitude, or personality must be contributing to the disproportionate number of complaints generated.

Just wondering a few things...how many of those seven admins played/plays tdm AND dueled/duel at the level and frequency of haunt? What I'm driving at is that you asked whether "some aspect of [his] behavior..." sparked the shittalking -- is it a possibility that haunt's numerous posted demos, trick shots/jumps posts, and voluminous thread contributions/observations all add up to one big target symbol for those who personalize q2 to an almost pathological degree,e.g., Bl00D?

There used to be more... of the remaining active refs, I'd say three players are at haunted's level or above.

What I had in mind was not exclusively what 'sparked the shittalking'.  That would be part of it, but I am deliberately looking at the issue from the standpoint of the volume of complaints that reach me that I can't simply disregard.  (If I were getting complaints I could disregard because the ref had followed the "warn first" guidelines, I would ignore those.)

When I look at the overall picture for why some admins/refs generate more complaints than others, it pretty much comes down to personality traits.

Note that I'm not suggesting haunted is doing a bad job.  But I may upgrade the "warn first" policy from a request to a requirement pretty soon.

Note, if it becomes clear someone is trying to game the system, and cause admins/refs as much grief as possible by exploiting the rules to cause admins busy work, then a different level of administrative action will be taken.  (Such as global mutes, or placing that person on a "has used up all their slack and doesn't need to be warned anymore" list, etc.)

There aren't any active ones besides me really.. dahang just came back and he is barely active I guess, and I see kickero about once every month at best. The others, almost never.

I remember haunted when he used to 'admin' the jump server.

He's a tit who seems to think he's a cut above everybody else.  This is the impression I always get of him.

Purely by the way he conducts himself he inflames the situation.  No I don't have condumps but I think many people will know exactly what I'm talking about.

He's clever.  Plays within the rules and, on the (obviously edited) face of it, butter wouldn't melt.

I'm not at all surprised to see a thread of this nature - imo it's well overdue.  Admin is a privilege not a tool to manipulate people you don't like into mute/kick situations.
