Old and decrepit but his band mates wow the shit outta you wherever ole Oz might be slacking. Zakk is probably one of the last of the great guitar gods. I remember seeing both Ozzy and Zakk on the old No More Tears tour, and it was probably one of the best shows I ever saw and heard in my life and WILL EVER SEE, but Zakk's actually gotten BETTER since then. Would've been awesome to see this particular night in person.

I saw a show in Jackson during that tour.  Ozzy's voice was not holding up too well and he said "I can't f'ing hear you" way too many times, but the band was pretty darn good.  Zakk's guitar strap came loose from one end during a song and he just fell to his knees with it and never missed a lick.  Somebody threw a Rebel flag up on stage and Ozzy tied it to his mike stand...much to the delight of the crowd.

Saw this on "Conan" a couple nights ago.

I enjoyed the way this artist samples herself to build up backing tracks as the performance progresses, as well as triggering different beats and percussion with an array of foot pedals.  It's evident she's got a superlative sense of rhythm.  The guitar parts are simple, but played with finesse and funkengrüven.

(Unfortunately, from what I've heard on amazon so far, her album tracks don't sound like these live performances but instead seem like they were given some standard/generic "girl pop" production.)

If the album tracks had sounded more akin to these live performances, I'd have bought a few...

Teh wife and I drove up to L.A. last Friday night to see Soundgarden at the LA Forum.
