First, I'd like to preface this reply by stating, political considerations aside, that from a number of articles on Sarah Palin I've read so far, I've found she appears to have a number of admirable personal traits.

HOWEVER.  If you are suggesting that it is somehow irrelevant whether someone elected to high office believes mythology should be taught in science class, or believes (if she indeed does) the Earth is less than 10,000 years old, then I most assuredly disagree.

(If I have incorrectly guessed as to what point you were making, please correct me.)

I couldn't agree more. I find myself faced with Hobson's choice:

A young man who has no experience and thinks the word "change" is a national policy.
An old man who has experience but no drive and thinks the word "drill" is an economic policy.

An old man who thinks giving up obstructionism in the Senate to become an invisible Vice President is a good idea.
A young woman who thinks mythology is science.

If either president were to die in office the successor is a potential disaster for America.

The only consolation is that given the gridlock potentials it really won't matter who is president unless he/she is of the same party as the Congress.

You're assuming that that was the only quote I used. That's not the point I'm making. The point that I'm making is that Jager can be a racist and a sexist and we should acknowledge that, but on the same token, singling out a religion and bashing it is not any better.

Normally I would continue your argument, because of your being childish about the concept of it, quoting a comedian as appropriate political theory, and portraying only one side of the argument with a skewed half truth regarding the alternate view's premise. I don't expect creationism to be taught in public schools, nor do I even support the public school system. However that was never my point.

If your point was to show that singlling out a religion and bashing it is bad, I'm not sure why you quoted DaHanG about creationism, that's not a religion.  I don't think quadz quote was bashing any specific religion either, I think it was showing the creationists attitude, regarding something as truth without evidence.  I guess you could argue that metaL was calling people who go to those churches retards because of the short bus icon, but he also said they were his friends.  At least one of your quotes kind of defended your argument.

Why chide me about making assumptions, when I purposly used the phrasing: If you are suggesting... and concluded with, "If I have incorrectly guessed as to what point you were making, please correct me."

Let's review.  Three out of the four quotes you referenced concerned the implications of teaching and belief in mythology as 'truth':

We are talking about a belief in creationism here; the specific sect mentioned in the latter, which is a verbatim quote from the footnoted LA Times article, is germane--but not exclusive--to the point.

You go on to accuse me of one-sidedness and half-truths, and you accuse DaHang, the LA Times, and metal of vitriol towards one specific religion, and foaming at the mouth.

Of the four quotes you referenced, the two from DaHang mention Palin and creationism only, and make no direct reference to any particular religion or denomination.  When I replied to DaHang by quoting the LA Times, my point was to hilight the absurdity of a creationist claiming to bite down on and cling doggedly to "truth".  Finally, the fourth quote by metal, offers a personal anecdote about having grown up among Assembly of God Pentecostals.

Frankly I see not a lot of vitriol here; but even assuming the worst about our motives, I still see no attacks against a "specific religion."  Assembly of God Pentacostalism is a fundamentalist denomination which includes among its sixteen core beliefs: the virgin birth; miracles; the final judgement; the rapture; the second coming resulting in the thousand-year reign of Christ and his saints on Earth; and that both the Old and and New Testament are the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and conduct.

Perhaps not surprisingly, according to a Newsweek article, Palin is now distancing herself from strict Pentacostalism:

Palin said during her run that creationism should be taught alongside evolution in schools. She was baptized in an Assembly of God church, a Pentecostal denomination that believes God created the world at every step. Maria Comella, a spokeswoman for the McCain-Palin campaign, said Palin attends different churches and does not consider herself Pentecostal. ^[2]

However I have seen nothing to indicate she has renounced creationism.

if you read his bibliography on wikipedia, he's accomplished an awful lot, although he's not exactly young.. he seemed to be quite a bit more successful and accomplished more on his own than bush.

besides, we have seen how heavily we should weight experience

Also i'd like to make another point, the country is mostly always changing for the better, but I believe Obama has the right philosophy,  if you hope and try for one million dollars instead of one-thousand dollars, thigns work out better.  Donald Trump is a big proponent of this philosophy, and he's right, no one could use this mentality better than a great communicator and leader like Obama.  I would say it's critical he get elected, I don't think the world will respect us quite as much if we don't - I wouldn't blame them.
