Although, we got rained on periodicaly the 1st 8 days, I don't think it was associated with the hurricane. Man, that's some bad shit down there ... was just wondering about Omega ... ain't he down there ?

No time to write a detailed description right now as work always seems to get in my way of things ... here's the short version for now.
Our route took us across north TX, northern NM, north AZ, made a big loop around southern UT, into colorado, back through NM, and finaly home.

Visited some volcano northeast of Clayton, NM. Spent a night at the north rim of the grand canyon in the national forest because all park campsites and lodging had no vacancies. Drove through Zion, Bryce, and capitol reefs national parks in Utah. One of our riders (there were 4 of us) missed a corner and went down. He was ok, bike was ok, trailer was not. Cost 5 hrs getting the trailer fixed. No more riders with trailers ! Rode across the Green and Colorado rivers in Utah. Colorado is where we spent 1/3 of our trip.

Hwy 550 between Durango and ridgeway is a must drive if you are ever in the area ! We traveled 141/145 from just south of Grand Junction, by Telluride, and back to Cortez where there's a great little steakhouse with excellent food. Wish I could remember the name. Also rode hwys 50, 149, and 160. You just can't go wrong touring southwest Colorado. Stayed a couple nights with two friends bowhunting Elk around Pagosa Springs. I hunted with them for many years there, but the Colorado Wildlife Division eventually priced themselves right out of this longtime customer.

After 4 nights in Colorado, it was time to head home. It's amazing how fast eleven days and 4200 miles go by when you're having fun. Looking forward to next year.

Ha ! yeah, if there's any questions I'll be glad to go into details, otherwise it'll take 10 pages to cover it all. I don't want bore anyone with things they ain't interested in. One thing to note if your considering a north rim grand canyon overnight stay. Make reservations ahead if you don't plan to rough camp in the national forest. We were prepared to camp anywhere, but fortunate enough to find decent spots.
