I can't install it, I double click on the EXE, and nothing happens. I'm running Vista Ultimate 32-bit, and I have tried running it i compatibility mode.

I'm not have the Vista $:-\$
Try install not to program files folder, check your rights (you must be administrator). And I heard - Vista have 2 types of Administrator.
Try disable any system protection for install.

Yeah, that's the annoying about Vista, there's too much parental control and admin shit on it.

i created my own HI RES PAK, screenshots http://realistic.tastyspleen.net/PAKS/Hi_Res_TDM_Pak/

any possible way to use this pak with bers@quake2?

edit: just ZIPPED the folders from my pak,and renamed as .pk2 works good

gettings a very shitty framerate,20-40 FPS

i have a 1.6 ghz sempron processor and a geforece 7900 256mg card so im wondering how do i get a better framerate,its not like i should be getting this

1.6 ghz isn't gonna do shit for a client like that. You probably need at least 2.5 ghz, a upper 8-series Nvidia GFX card, and a pretty new computer (preferably NOT a laptop)

Which map, place, game config, driver config, texture set?
Many-many reasons for low FPS. Bers@Q2 is a highly configurable engine

Bers@Q2 is more CPU-dependent engine than Doom3 (legacy of old Q2 architecture).
So, 1.6 GHz Sempron not best CPU.
If you use hi-res textures (like your HI RES PAK), small video RAM (256 Megs) be is bottleneck too.
