no "numberone" sound on server

Yeah i reinstalled quake and when i join server it wont download the numberone sound cuz the server doesnt have it any more. Whats up with dat?

Try another jump server,and make sure u have all downloads turned on..

well now it doesnt play when someone gets first place, i downloaded it from wireplay and played on jump, wetarded got first and it didnt play it. I even asked everyone in the server and they all said they didnt hear it. Think it needs to be fixed.

Ahh Yeah,there's a new command.If you type "sounds" in console,it turns first place and completion sounds off,I have noticed myself that sometimes I don't hear anything,but that's only happened a few times,Idk maybe buggy still?

yeah same here, only every once in a while i wont here it at times.

It might be an artifact of Quake2.

There are a limited number of sound channels in the game (6 or so). It's possible to be picking up an item or playing a sound that overrides the numberone sound if it was programmed to play in the same channel. It depends on how the mod was coded. If you have the sound on your client but it doesn't always play, this may be what is happening.

you can download the numberone.wav sound i think from wireplay server
