My refresh rate is at 75 hz and I don't get any tearing when I use 120fps or above,so whoever does must have a shitty monitor.  :nana:

My guess is you just don't know where to look. :)

I never experience tearing either.  I'm well aware of what it is and how it manifests but I don't get it.  Or if I do get it it isn't noticable...at least when using R1Q2.

So if not noticable then, in effect, it's not happening.  My monitor refreshes at 75Hz but I never use 75 fps.

Amazing how many people think the jump server is somehow a 'joke' and for 'noobs' when in reality the people who accuse this wouldn't dare even enter the server because they'd be so comprehensively outclassed by the 'noobs' they'd probably have to quit Q2 in shame.  Yes, jager, I include you as an accuser.  Even I would kick your arse in jump and I'm not even that good.

Actually it has nothing to do with the quality of your monitor, it all has to do with the refresh rate of your monitor. LCD monitors in particular have a low refresh rate where tearing is way more noticeable.

If you are attempting to say I have a shitty monitor perhaps you should do a little research on the model I listed.  :busted:

Amazing how jump players think their ability to solely make a tricky jump automatically makes them good at Q2 where if they joined a mod involving the way Q2 was meant to be played (first person shooter) they would be completely raped and leave the server crying about the chaingun.

Atlast i finally fixed it, i think the prob was i was messing around with the refresh rate some day last week and unchecked the box that says "hide modes that monitor can not display" i think thats what screwed it up. All i did was turn on my nvidia desktop manager and instead of checking quality i turned it on performance and now everything works  :beer: thanks for all the help guys.

Well my fps always switches, ill have it on 120 and it will be on 116, 98, sometimes as low as 89 and idk how to make it stay 120. I have nothing running in the background when im playin quake. Does anyone know how to fix dis?

Depends on the map and your current network connection (incase you're speaking about Jumpmod !fps cmd). Rendering more complicated scenes results in lower fps, thus you can get different fps looking in different directions on the same map, whilst your console variable cl_maxfps has same value.

Yeah but ive seen people while looking at the !fps thing and they have it set to 120 and they actually have 125 all the time, theirs never change like mine.
