FreeBSD server

Hey all
I was looking for a good lithium rail arena server with hooks.. none exist (with people on them, sad)
Not sure where this would go, but I compiled q2ded on my FreeBSD server, put up lithium, but lithium does not run on freebsd
Anyone know of any lithium-like mods, instagib style, for freebsd?

OSP will do hook + insta. Available on the tastyspleen.net down loads page under mods. Dont know about freebsd issue though. Older mods need to use r1q2ded-old binary have you tried that on lithium yet??

You'll need to recompile any mods you wish to run on your server. There were probably only a couple mods which ever released FreeBSD binaries, and I'm sure they are no longer compatible with current BSD systems. So focus on open source ones like OpenTDM etc, as you'll have the best chance of getting those to work. Closed source mods for which only Linux binaries are available (e.g. Lithium) are simply not an option.

Yah I gave up, and I started Qemu up under FreeBSD running Ubuntu, then started q2 server in there... works really well
Lithium seems to have a memory leak though... blah
OSP it is

Is Lithium still maintained by anyone or is the source code available? Leaks and bugs can be fixed.

Too bad. That spells the death of a mod. If a developer is going to stop supporting his code, at least he should put the source up somewhere so that others can carry on.

Well, that's not exactly a new development. Lithium II has been closed source and discontinued for 9 years.
Edit: Rebuilding Lithium II from scratch would not be all that hard. Probably 1 month's worth of nights and weekends from a capable developer.
Edit2: No, I'm not volunteering to do this. While I am capable and would actually love to see something like that, my Quake coding time is
already spoken for

Quake II is not 27 years old. I refuse to accept THAT much time has gone by.
