Pfft. Mine knows her's, mine, her bosses', her last two bosses', and her father's.

She is an application form jedi I swear...I usually spend 5 minutes getting paper work with all my digits on it and she's done.

It's not a HUGE problem until she's your ex. Especially if she's your ex, has your social security number, birthday, a copy of your signature to forge, etc. Hmmm, how many times a week can a person check their credit report?

And it's damn near impossible to have your social security number changed on the suspicion that someone might decide to steal your identity in the near future. They want PROOF that someone ALREADY HAS fucked your life up beyond repair. *grumble grumble*

Was talking about the decoy having a lower limit. But I guess you meant to say that the decoy was cancelled. Heh, there's a lot of things a woman could get with $300, like her hair, nails, and eybrows done that I'm sure most of us wouldn't notice, get shit for, then spend the night in the dog house because we didn't notice WHAT OUR MONEY BOUGHT!!!

it's also worth nothing that the limit = the max amount that can be charged BEFORE they sock you with penalties. You can charge as much as you want on a $300 card (so I've been told...)

I guess I'll take this time to note that it's a debit card. I decided very early that credit cards are bad ideas except for extreme emergencies. I only said credit because it flowed better when I read it back out load. I'm not sure if it's any better that she can spend the money that I've already earned at a moments notice, but I don't suppose any of the two situations is a good one.

as a debit card itself, it most likely has a $300 max limit daily. I think as a CC it's unlimited. you can still overdraw on a debit when used as a credit I think (because transactions aren't updated right away)

Nothing wrong with credit IF YOU USE IT RESPONSIBLY. I have 2 CC's (and a debit/cc). Every thing that's put on them is written in the checkbook, as if we paid via check. No surprises @ end of month & we always know what our REAL limit is.

Credit is great to have. If you can manage to charge up a bit and pay it off in full every single month when the bill comes, they'll steadily keep increasing your credit limit, which also helps your credit score, which in turn helps you when applying for loans. Sometimes it looks good on job applications too, some companies are going so far as to run credit checks on applicants.
