in an effort to get more people involved in Quakeworld around here
id like to setup a weekly time that we can all come together and frag

we have that sunday thing going on for quake2, so lets get it going for this

we would play on the ts qw server of course - 74.54.186.226:27500

I don't have a copy of quake1 otherwise I'd play.

May favorites have always been TF, Rise of the Phonix, and Future vs. Fantasy mods. Not sure if they all still exist but those were some great memories.

well, i can sorta help everyone that doesnt have q1
the great thing about the quakeworld community is that they welcome newcomers with open arms all the time

they have put together a package for people just getting started, or dont have a working setup at all
http://nquake.com/ however, to make this fully legal, they did not include the main pak file from the full install of quake

now, if quadz has no objection to it, i can provide this for those who wish to play. but i would rather not if people already own the game

Uh... I'm probably required to have an objection if something were to be illegally posted on my server?

I wonder if it's possible to finagle it like with q2? Install the shareware release of q1, then replace the quake.exe with a modern client?

I have a shareware version, but i know that there's some kind of minor preliminary security for the shareware. The message "Missing file spike.mdl" comes to mind for some reason.

ya thats what i thought

and no it doesnt work the same as demo quake2
not sure what to say, it sucks though
