Post some of ur worst lags ever.

Here is some of mine from wednesday
when i was playing with focalor on
the eom server and i lagged out.

Well, its a wireless router and a wireless network card
and i have another computer at my router and my
computer i use when im playing is in my bedroom
and its two walls between them.

Guess its why i have packet loss
sometimes under my games.

Well, if u wonder why i dont use my other
pc so can i tell ya its an older one with:

Pentium II 400 Mhz.
256Mb Ram.
Riva TNT 16Mb.
Harddrive 4Gb.
Windows ME.

My computer is:

Pentium III 700 Mhz.
512 Ram.
Geforce 2.
Harddrive 16Gb.
Windows 2000.

Well, i have heard ppl wants me to buy
a new pc but i dont need a new
one when i only play quake 2.

If you bought a quality wireless router, even if it's quite old at this point, then 2 rooms apart should not be an issue. The things I've seen that kill a connection to a wireless router if they sit between the 2 points are Radio scanners, Old cordless phones, and Baby Monitors. Radio scanners are the worst. I've experimented by putting a laptop 10 feet away from a wireless router and had a CB scanner in between and get periodic dead times. Probably every 10-20 seconds.

I don't know if it is so much interferance since the frequencies should be different enough. Maybe it's the size of the antenas on the other devices absorbing enough of the wireless router to make a noticable difference. Then again maybe I know absolutely nothing about radio frequencies and I'm talking out of my butt (which is most likely, so feel free to correct me with real facts).

You could play a drinking game while spectating me playing on that map. Every time I fall into the lava, do a shot. Alcoholic coma, anyone?

Lol I know...I remember a match Gator and I had on that map, or maybe the other lava DM map. We had something like 13 baths the whole thing.

You could try to buy a long ass cat5 "ethernet" wire and times when you want to play quake, just run it to the back of the router "safely if possible".

Modify your railgun to cut, strip, and crimp network cable and then fire it towards the router. But you'll need a straight line of sight. I'm sure you can work something out with grenades.

The size of the antenna on other devices should have NO effect afaik. I could ask my father, he's a radio telecommunications expert.
