First thought, dear lord this forum has a lot of smilies.

Second, the summer is very rapidly approaching, and it has been almost two years since the last Quake Expo, which in 2005 was extended to Quake2 fans, and in 2006 to Q3A as well. We are all now anxious for another expo, and at least amongst the Quake community people have been asking for another host to step forward, and abusing my position as the Inside3d news guy and QExpo06 host, I have nominated your one and only, ever adorable [BTF]Jehar, having had numerous experiences with them, usually ending in bloodshed.

I hope to see good support for him from all communities, and wanted to extend a community handshake of sorts to TastySpleen from Inside3d. We may be focused on the original Quake, the majority of us do enjoy a good time on The Edge, and I have had the pleasure of a point blank ssg kill against Jehar on it myself. I hope to see you all on the servers this summer, for any of the supported games!

Welcome to TastySpleen!

Hope your QuakeExpo goes well. i loved quake. Only thing that could have ever ripped my fingers loose from the mouse playing quake was quake2. Little has done that since.

i like to fire up quake for nostalgia every now and then. But, like i was saying, good luck with your undertaking!

Congrats, I know it'll be a lot of work for you but you can pull it off. Definitely the man for the job.

(P.S. Railwolf, you beat me to the punch by about an hour using the same FAQ for the weekly cast, but I was not reading from your website. We both got the same information from the same source at relatively the same time)

He probably did what Drew Berrymore discussed concerning her cat... remember when she said that when her cat died she wanted to cremate it and sprinkle the ashes on her food so that her cat could live on inside of her? LOL.

Ahem... gonna attempt to re-rail this.
Currently, I'm just getting around to how much of an effort this will be on my part, as well as the major participants. I really have no Big Plan right now (though I will be formulating one soon), but there are a few things I would like to see:
-A mod\map contest that is dualistic in nature. Someone makes a cool mod, and someone else makes a cool map to complement the mod perfectly.
-scar3crow's unveiling of a rather modest proposal to id software.
-FABULOUS PRIZES!!!
-More audio\multimedia coverage than last time. It's felt rather... pigeonholed in my experience. I can't get too idealistic until I know for sure what I want to see from it, but the wonderful thing is I don't have to - the participants do most of that

-Some major server activity of various mods! Perhaps even a mapping contest whose winners will be used in a mini dm tourney...

Many more concepts will crop up, I'm sure. This has been a bit of a "build it and they will come" scenario. I just hope to use grenades as incentives.

i'm working with escaped turkey to get q1 hosted. if we can get the mods compiled for linux AND ET has the q1 support up, I'll have a server that's usable.

no problem with puttin up whatever is needed... if such things were indeed needed
