I might disagree about whose ass ought to be sore.  But in any case, here was the inspiration for the post:

One of our halloween party guests arrived dressed as a "tea partier", replete in red white & blue denim, american flag scarf, and brandishing a sign with the obligatory misspelled slogans.

It was she who alerted me to the vast treasure trove of such imagery available on teh interwebs.

In fact, in my reasearch I discovered the slogans on her costume sign were borrowed from the real thing: "deviding" on one side, "infromed" on the other:

The funny part about these threads and postings is that the same thing happens ALL the time during the weekly rent-a-mob events that the Democrats put on. The difference is that there is a larger effort to photograph tea-party signs.

However, I did find "Whether tis nobler to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous liberals, or to quit halfterm, and by opposing, rake in speaking fees" to be rather apposite.  (And, shall we say, LOL-worthy.)

Fact is that there are nuts on both sides. Displaying one side proves nothing. One example during the 2008 year was the lady who carved a B on her own forehead pretending to be attacked. In the same few weeks a black student had been arrested for making terroristic threats after threating other black students that he was a racist who would kill them if Obama was elected.

Neither example is in anyway a commentary on the politics of their respective side.


That being said, I'm sure buying the whole "I would hasten to discourage anyone from interpreting the pictures I'm posting as constituting a tacit claim that the Tea Party possesses a monopoly on incompetence." line is going to go well for you. Making a one sided post, not funny based on normal satire, but requiring a pre-existing distaste to build from, immediately after an election is a text book example of actions speaking louder than words. You may have not meant it that way, but you certainly did everything that you could to give that impression.


The second part really needs no argument. You quoted people who were reacting to a misspelling on twitter. It's like laughing when someone dies with a blaster. In fact there are quite a few good Twitter entries from celebrities (with and without bad spelling) on roflrazzi that are hundreds times funnier than mindlessly pointing out the obvious.

(like pointing out that The Clintons have been making millions on speaking engagements alone before Palin even became governor, but I haven't seen you make the same criticisms. Obvious, but still not funny.)

you can't find many negative pictures of democrats because every non-democrat isn't wasting their time carrying a camera around looking for a stupid person in the democrats marches.

Remember, The USA doesn't need to decide if it should have a national language because it already does: English.
