I just downloaded photoshop a week or so ago, and have pinched out a few creations since then. This one was my very first attempt.

Echoing Dukie to some degree..
I don't "copy" software. I bought Photoshop (was required -- long story); but, if I wanted it's capabilities and didn't want to spend the money.. why not download GIMP? It is free, has loads of features, and to most people's needs, does everything Photoshop does. There is a windows version. You can even skin it to look identical to Photoshop.
Same is true for music.. there is alot of great (i.e. better) free music out there than the overpriced advertised crap.

I came upon a copy of PS 6.0 about a year ago and I still can't seem to do the
things I want to with it. I ended up giving a copy of it to a
friend of mine thats a photographer and she's gotten so much use out of it that
I feel some serious shame, for being so lazy and not trying to learn.
I don't need too much power for the stuff that I edit (mostly skins, textures and screenies)
so I usually use Irfanview.
It's free, easier to use than paint, and it opens every kind of pic format I've ever used.
It's even got some good plug-ins that make it slightly more powerful than most freeware utils.
Google it up and give it a try! it's free and legal.

Not intended to hurt anyone's feelings, but whoever thinks that the best way to learn PS (or anything at all, for that matter) is just to sit and fuck around with it, needs a fucking reality check. There are plenty of textbooks out there that are (guess what?!) actually created for people to learn from them. I could recommend Scott Kelby and Deke Mclelland (sorry for spelling, too lazy to check). They are allaround very good publications for both, beginners and advanced users. And if you're not the biggest fan of reading (as I imagine, most people here), my advice would be to look into Total Training. It's huge, and it's worth every byte.
P.S.: I happend to have some PS related literature and might be willing to share if you absolutely need it and have nowhere else to get it.

I don't worship the devil. Jesus is Lord, friend. He died for your sins. He will forgive you if you just ask.
