PSP is looking good tho - The latest is very powerful and easy to use, so PSP is becoming number 1.

consumer wise maybe.. but look at about 80% of professionals and they are using photoshop
not bashing PSP.. i used it for a while, and can do things alot better on there then on photshop.. but once i leard ps then i wont need PSP for anything

I just think Photo Shop is way over-rated. I can do practically anything I want in PSP and I'm pretty demanding when it comes to graphics too. Once you've mastered PSP 9 you dont need Photo Shop. After grasping how Photo Shop works I can say that PSP is still my preference.

well like i said i dont know photshop much/at all, i just got it and havent gotten around to seriously trying much.. but if you upload the pics it'd help.. how did you want the text on it? as if it were spraypainted on the curb or something? or just aligned the same?

well,I'm still workin on gettin the pics,but yeah,I want the writing to seem like it's some kind spary painted on the curb or wall,.......I want it as real as possible...could u guys give me an example or something on how to do it?....I would apreciate it

Well like I said before, I only do PSP and not Photo Shop, although I've used it quite a bit as well. I can give you examples tho.

sure cornholio,I don't mind if u post some of your creations so I kinda get the idea how they look like.

Here is a rough approach I made to the idea of rendering graffitti-like lettering on a surface so it looks like it belongs there.
I used Photoshop and only its standard filters and tools:you may have more and better than I (I use PS 5.5 ).Also,I stuck with the Type tool and the Impact fontfor thich letters,but any design you have should be pre-prepared for this.

i was wondering though:

Wall7:Now I do something strange:with the letters still selected,I pop back to the background layer and copy the bits of wall the letters are hiding,then paste them on top!Then I fade this layer just enough to see the lettering underneath,andthen begin whittling away at it using the erasertool at 20% strength,letting the texture of the wall and the letters blendso patterns from the background seem to be carried through on the lettering.

couldnt you just add transparency to the letters?

How would you do it?

I tried reducing the opacity of the letter's layer,but it made them overall too dark. I'm sure it can be done in other ways far more effectively.I really only use Photoshop in manipualting my own drawings into comic panels,and I allow only a small amount of time for real experimenting.There are tools I never touch,and functions I never realized.Just saw layer effects for the first time,and now I can talk about adding glows and such without refering to EyeCandy plug ins...

Anyway,making a new layer of the background allows you to make the effect without screwing with the original lettering,if that is a priority...

Hey man ... i think the graffiti you did there looks pretty good.  One thing I would change is the font of the type.  You dont usually see graffiti in "Arial" type font   I think it would make it look alot better if it had a more "freestyle" looking font.
