I was wondering if any of you guys could give me a few clues on this. It seems that the new DirectX9c is reaking havoc on my system even though I have the vid card and most up to date drivers that support it. I have a gForce FX 5600 256 DDR card with the most up to date drivers, yet I have to have my Video Acceleration cut in half for Movies to work and to keep my Quake2 from crashing on a regular basis. At first I thought that it was WindowsXP's extream driver pickiness that was causing the problem, but now that I reverted back to Windows2000 pro, I'm still getting the same issue. The funny thing is that I have went into the help section and ran the DirectX diognostic's and all the tests pass, but when I try to watch a movie, the color is all wacked unless all the DirectX accelerations are turned off.

This is driving me BATTY!!! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I installed 9a & 9b, both of them screwed up my jumping and speed strafing in q2, so I dumped it and went back to either 7 or 8, I can't really remember which, and I'm scared to try 9c :\

I've had no problems with 9.0c

Have you tried going back to the previous video drivers, the new drivers gave me weird gamma problem on movies, so I went back to 71.89.  My card is an FX 5200 128MB.

Just remember to uninstall the current drivers before installing these ones.

Thanks...that worked. I can be such a space case sometimes...over looking the simplest soloution to the problem. Thanks again
