OpenTDM readiness assessment

GREETINGS, SALUTATIONS, ETC. ETC.

I'm trying to get a list together of the various OpenTDM issues and feature requests that have been voiced so far.

For starters, I'm just trying to get a complete list here.  Here's what I have so far.  Anything missing?




 - remove pre-existing teams in favor of freestyle team creation, e.g. "team asdf" -> creates a team called asdf and joins

 - put voting options in a menu (in addition to command line voting)

 - add mid-game voting for 'restart' and 'timelimit'

 - 'ready' should not toggle (typing 'ready' when already ready, should not unready)

 - player movement should not be affected by hyperblaster hits

 - cap # of players per team at 4

 - should be able to invite players to team during a match

 - should be able to change playername during match

 - make rail the default weapon during warmup, because "rail = get used to ping"

 - need 'captains' command to view both team captains (currently can only view your own team captain)

 - improve the scoreboard layout
   - "pings should be in single column instead of all over the place on the menu"
   - see gxmod scoreboard example [1]

Allow player invites during games.

The netcode should also be improved!

My silly half-thought was to have each team have a set model (eg one model per team), but allow skin differences between members. Might be cool for clan "jerseys" or whatnot. Silly idea, I know.

Has anyone mentioned voteable teamkilling?
we used opentdm on some team insta servers lately and the ability to switch between tk'ing and no tk'ing seemed to be lacking...

the server has restarted a few times since one of the updates.. one time it crashed when someone accepted my invitation to join a game that was in progress.. then it crashed again when every readied up a couple games later.

Those should be fixed now, if not...

Please report further bugs / issues on the bug tracker at http://www.r1ch.net/mantis/ as it's becoming difficult to track all the feedback from forums, IRC, in-game, etc.

The old logo = epic win.


please eliminate all map restarts, the map should never restart unless voted to restart.

lastnight I died instantly from long distance hyper and no visible lag. Movement around other people seems buggy as well.

Indeed, the hyper blaster bug is definitely not fixed. Attached are demos where the bug was obvious. It happened last night and I forgot to post which exact demo and what time, but I do remember that when 'chance' jumped off the top of the lift he was hypered and his angular motion toward the ground instantly became vertical. This happened to krez as well in one of these demos I believe.
