it's a half second second delay based from the ground to satellite 22,233 miles to the satelliteround trip = times 4 = 88,932 milesspeed of light (wave propagation) = 186,282 mi/seclatency = 88,932 / 186,282 = 0.477 secondsthat's just a fraction of the trip, and you have the propogation delay between the satellites. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Propagation_delay
Honestly, I'd rather shotgun two 56k's together.
It largely depends on the quality of the hardware & signal.
How often does the wire fall out of your mouse or your network cable out of your computer?
Its happened a few times when I threw my mouse across the room at the wall. USB plug popped right out. Its getting expensive both for the plastic parts missing from the mice and the dents in the drywall.
(unless you break your shit of course)
