Trailer Toilet Trouble

Hehe... this is appropriate for this category, right?
The toilet in my trailer is having a problem where it continuously fills - as though the pedal were being depressed continuously. I don't know how to get into the toilet to see what the problem is. There are a couple of bolts on the bottom, but the one behind the toilet is pretty much inaccessible. It also seems like I may be able to take the top of the toilet completely off (along the seam halfway down the toilet) and get inside that way, but I can't seem to figure out how. Anyone have any knowledge about this sort of thing? I heard the toilet setup is a lot like a boat's.
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks,
Crazed

Hmm.
Need a couple blanks filled in first.
Number One: When you flush is it like a conventional toilet where a resevoir is used or is it based on a pressurised flush? (water above it or water supplied to it?)
Number Two:
Is there a panel on the other side of that wall?
Number Three: Do you have a water shut off valve to the bathroom?

Thanks for replying so quickly!
1. When flushed, the toilet's bottom plug opens up and water is pumped in - so it is NOT like a conventional toilet. The water doesn't really do much except clean the toilet a bit.
2. The entire wall (and bath) would have to be removed to get behind the toilet. The toilet is free-standing - it looks like it is attached to that back wall but it isn't.
3. I can't turn the water to the bathroom off without turning off everything else - as far as I can tell.
Seems like I need to unbolt the toilet from the floor and pull the whole thing up - or pull the top half off.

Yeah there is a pump that should be inside the case...as for access I believe the top should come off somehow.
I am unfamiliar with those toilets but I'll try to be a second info source for yah.
* [BTF]Sigma goes back to scouring the 'net for info.
*PS Any manufacturer info?

Aqua Magic - here's the tag on the inside of the lid.
Thanks, again, Sigma!

So it looks like the bottom casing pops off (release is around the back) and you should be able to see the insides of it.
Once that is exposed maybe you can find out if the pedal mechanism is faulty or your pump is.

I haven't lived in the trailer yet!
Since this thread has generated sooo much interest here's a little update:
I've managed to get to the mechanism that controls the water flow. The marble-looking thing is turned to 90 degrees to turn the water off, but for some reason it is still letting water get past. Seems like I'll have to either replace this mechanism (if the part is still available) or get a new toilet.
I'm still testing the seal so I'll find out soon - the suspense is killing you I know, so I'll try to keep everyone posted!

Looks like a *ahem* SHITLOAD of fun. I'm a commercial/industrial pipefitter, and I know a little about residential plumbing. I've NEVER seen anything like that.
That's basically a ball valve, the ball looks kinda corroded around the orifice, which might be what's letting the water past. I'd guess the black part there is the ball seating material, some kind of rubber or plastic that it fits against like a gasket. Perhaps the corrosion has caused the ball to tear the seating material allowing leakage.
It could also just be that the valve is not able to close all the way. I'd recommend smearing some type of gasket lube around both sides of the inner part of the valve that the ball sits against to make it easier for the ball to rotate. Then tighten the living shit out of the screws. BUT, the plastic housing does look pretty old, careful with that, tightening it too much could crack it. If that doesn't work and it still leaks, replace that entire valve assembly completely.
