LOL, Don't go pointing fingers at me, I wasn't the one that posted it, nor would I EVER post something quite of that nature here. When I start posting shit like that, you can brow beat me all you want. I see why you and others object to it. For fucks sake, it's sick and twisted. While this messageboard is devoted to Quake2, this particular forum is "dev/random", and as we've all seen, pretty much ANYTHING GOES here. Anyone is free to post anything here (to a certain extent). He sought feedback, you provided feedback (albeit negative feedbeck, but feedback nonetheless). I slightly agree with his sentiments of not complaining about that which you need not subject yourself to (and he DID provide a stern warning), but in this realm, if you post anything, it's pretty much wide open for criticism no matter what.

By the way, I never thanked him for posting it. It disturbed me deeply. But think about it objectively... whats the difference between watching this and watching a horror movie depicting scenes of cruel torture with realistic blood and gore?

Awwwww. Come on. Honestly. I'm sure some of you enjoy a good gory horror movie. While I don't find anything sexually stimulating about that video, it certainly does a fine job of scratching my horror itch, ...as I'm sure that sort of thing does for others as well, otherwise videos such a "Faces of Death" volumes 1 and 2 wouldn't be as popular as they are. Horror movies are fake, but THIS shit is real, which scares the HELL out of you profoundly more effectively.

It was there you qualified my theory of justification that if at least one person found amusement in the post, then it was all worthwhile thus my statement implicating you. I didn't point a finger at you. I did not complain of the contents of the video; so why everyone is going off on don't bitch when you've been forewarned, is beyond me. I have a fairly strong constitution and as one who originally wanted to be a doctor, can handle witnessing a dissection or two. As I said, "the video posted wasn't 'sick' in my opinion. The compulsion to post it is..." My disapproval stems from the intent behind posting something in such poor taste.   Bottom line, if it's opinions he sought, then I have complied.

The point of posting it was to gather feedback on what people thought would drive people to do these things, what mental sickness causes this bullshit (because before seeing it, it stayed in the realm of impossibility)--Hell people for a while posted their reactions to the net about it, are all these people bitching at the person who posted it? nope, they're filiming themselves and posting the reaction which has resulted in some pretty funny videos in the end..

What would drive someone to do that? Some people actually receive pleasure from the rush of endorphins and adrenaline caused by pain. People into BDSM refer to that as achieving "subspace".
