Towards my customer
gunshow sun shot through
my heart lifted upon the counter
slipping slowly back into slumber
I wonder how many mighty more have fallen
a manager of convenience, recompense
in lead, sweat and tears into my body
cold and listless in the corner
lies the slurpee machine, cherry red
floating inches above me, the cieling
looking down on habibmart, deciding
to leave my last customer drifts into night
never again brought to mind . . .

My boss's family runs a mart..  they have a vintage slurpy machine,  great slurpys.
