R1Q2 Flashes

OK, if I play in a server and if I record a demo with R1Q2, when I play the demo, there aren't any flashes.
For example, when you pick a weapon or ammo, your screen turns a little brighter for a second, and when you are hurt there is a red flash, when you enter the water, there is a blueish flash, when you have Invulnerability, your screen turns yellowish, quad - violetish, you know what I mean. Is there a way to fix this?
I'm posting a demo to give an example.

nah that is the command. you may have to reset your graphics for it to take effect and make sure it's being executed in your config.

you'll need to set it back to "1" to get the flashes to show up.

the "0" setting disables the flashes.

No, you all misunderstood, I want them to be on, but they're off in the demos if I have played with R1Q2 when I have recorded the demo. BRB, I'll check it now.

When you have the time, please download the demo and you'll see that the problem is not in that! Even if gl_polyblend is 0 or 1, it still doesn't show the flashes!

It's because it's recorded with R1Q2, it's not that in Quake 2 Normal Client, I think...  :(

You're not understanding...

First off us viewing your demos will make no difference. When you view a Q2 demo from what ever source it's always going to use your graphic settings/pak. So if we had flashes on already in our config they will show up for us if we view your demo. If you want to make a recording of your Q2 and present the flashes not working you will have to use a program like fraps to record your screen.

I had the same problem as you once with the flashes. Make sure ALL your configs are set to: gl_polyblend 1

Perhaps there is a R1Q2 command that enables/disables the flashes as well but I don't know it.

If you were lagging during the game, try r_drawworld 0 to make the flashes *really* obvious.

Thanks for posting this, I confirmed this is a bug in the R1Q2 protocol 35 -> 34 demo translation. It will be fixed in the next build.

The line 'gl_polyblend' is always '1'...
When I recorded the demo 'gl_polyblend' was 1, so I see no reason for the flashes not to show up when I played the demo.
Yes, I'm always lagging in the TastySpleen servers, I'm just in a galaxy far, far away. I mean that I'm in Europe so the high ping is understandable.
As R1CH confirmed, it's a bug in R1Q2 and I hope it'll be fixed soon! Thanks R1CH!  ;)
