Where are all the tx.tastyspleen.net servers?! I can't connect to them!

Uhhh... not sure I get your point.  I wouldn't change the IP until the new server is fully ready...

Wasn't expecting tx.tastyspleen.net to go down until the end of the month.

Servers are back up and running.  It was a system crash of some sort.  That machine has been prone to them somewhat frequently in the last six months.  It was just bad timing, as i didnt have the info needed to reboot readily available.  The servers will be going down in a month or so.  i think quadz is going to take them on with his new machine.  Anything short of that, i can mirror them from another machine.  But that particular machine has had lots of network and OS or physical problems of some sort.

when i try to play on any tastyspleen server it tells me that the ip has change, i cant get in. what do i have to do to play again ? do i have to put the new ip somewhere ? im kind of new at this.

It depends on what software you are using to connect to the servers.  Are you using GameSpy? ASE? ...or ?

But try this: Load quake2 and go to the console, and type:

  connect tastyspleen.net:27912

That will take you to vanilla.  From there you can type 'goto' and get everywhere else.

ok thanks , im gonna try this, and im using gamespy to get to your server it tells me " bad server message" the problem is that before i would just click on the server and start playing, now all the tastyspleen servers on my gamespy said  " IP CHANGED!"

yeah, even a global refresh won't pick up the new server ip's. I had to add the servers I wanted manually to gamespy. bummer

its possible that it could take a few days to update the master servers?
i know when i run a server that it never shows up on any server browser either regardless of what masters i use

There is no problem with the servers, the problem is your server browser continues to use the old servers. You can see on http://q2servers.com/ the servers have clearly changed.

Are you using the original GameSpy or GameSpy Arcade? The original should be able to query the q2servers.com master using HTTP which will get you an up to date list of servers.
