Thresh vs Billox vid I found on youtube, it's been recammed n such...this movie was made back in 1998...if thats true, then id have to agree with Thresh having the legend rep he does

Also: I found out Billox was not just a run of the mill player either, he won a tourney and part of the prize was chance to play Thresh (thats crazy, a tourney...the prize being the right to face someome

one of the most famous matches of all time for q2, billox wasn't anything special though.. he was just temporarily on top in UK i think.

OK, I have tried quite a bit to upload the movie for this, to no avail. So I took the demo out of the pak file and will try to upload just that. The demo shows functions for slo mo and fast fwd. Those functions will not work without the rest of the zip file the whole thing came with. The whole movie thing isn't that important. It just had extra bells and whistles to add to the ambiance, and a lot of hard work was put into making it. Here she be...the original. Just copy to c:\quake2\baseq2\demos. To run just key in console 'map thresh-bilox.dm2'. To clear half-screen just use esc.

It seems to me that gameplay wasn't as fast back in the day, the jumps weren't as good etc. I wonder if this is due to the variety of tweaks available as well as better hardware. It would be awesome to see Thresh play against one of the modern day best.

Does anyone have the thresh vs. billox demo without the recam from Thresh's POV? I know I used to have it.

My favorite demo ever was Makaveli vs. Destrukt. Maka was so fun to watch. I can't tell you how many times I've found and then lost this demo. Now I can't find it at all. I think I found it one time called owned.dm2. Anyone have this?

What is more amazing, is that many people forget that although the videos may not look incredible, you have to consider that back then, people were playing on pentium 200's with original riva, voodoo and voodoo rush cards getting 30fps max!hehe

Much of the games physics, were not even untapped then.
