I thought Children of Bodom was considered "black metal"??? :headscratch:

Hard as hell to keep up with what these different metal genres consist of. Used to be that if your vocalist sounded similar to cookie monster, you were death metal. Now there's a plethora of sub-genres to categorize. Rap-core black death grindcore, hardcore alterna-thrash death ska,... I don't know if these genres even exist, but it wouldn't surprise me if someone told me they did.

Not sure if you've ever heard of this band, but it's the band that basically gave the death metal genre it's name.
Death. Lead guitarist and vocalist Chuck Schuldiner, who is now deceased, basically WAS the band for it's entire history. The lineup changed almost every album, and he always chose some of the most skilled musicians to back him up. The early stuff was pretty simple and straightforward, but the stuff from the Human album on was a lot more complex, melodic, and interesting. Not your average death metal lyrical content either. I highly recommend Death.

Here's one song I found on youtube. The title track to the album Symbolic.

Death is ok, FL metal band. they've never produced anything extremely special though. I used to be into their thrashy stuff. As for the genre of COB, if anything they're melodic thrash with a crazy guitarist (the most acclaimed in finland) that can sweep pick in his sleep. I agree though, the genres are defined very weird and I honestly don't know what half of them even mean today. I will say that I think that the genre is determined more so by instruments than the vocalist though.

I'm also referring to earlier c.o.b. when calling them thrashy, just fyi ;) most people that listen to them just have the are you dead yet album. imo 1997 was their best year.

DM server is fucked. 2 point blank rockets from spawn and lava damage and player survived? WTF?" Also someone has fucked with the spawn points, every single time no matter how big the map you spawn right in front of the person who killed you last
