There are servers in europe to play on.  They dont seem to do much hack protection there anyways.

Ehm I regularly play on EU servers so can tell you this is nonsense . Most of the popular servers like Fuster's and coolnet even force r1q2+anticheat).

Yeah. Now that AC is x64 compatible I believe it should be forced as well. Does it work for 98? Probably not but who cares about 98 users anyhow.

agreed.  i remember i tried playing q3 a couple years ago, and all the servers required punkbuster and it was a pain in the ass to get working so i just said fuck it.
