I Pwn and play:

SP games: Quake II, Quake III Arena, Grand theft auto III (pc version), Halo, Rtcw/wolfenstein3d, Doom III/II/I, Half-Life, Heavy-Gear, Jetfighter, disciples/II (two canadian strategy games), and also play some console emulator games (yes, im a rom man)

ok really, the games you play online with and the games you own (for instance, i own gtaIII/halo, but dont play mp with them.)

One game I found truely innovative for its time was one of the Quake2 engine games:Kingpin.

Forget the profanity: you can hear worse language at any grade school nowadays...it presented a number of cool concepts that later FPS never took advantage of:

1.Sectional Skins:Even though there were only 3 character models,the theme of the game being gangsters shooting up other gangsters,it made up for this with a cornicopia of skins,head,torso and legs that could be matched up any way you liked.And you could add simple touches like cigars and hats to them too,making for a lot more MP customizations out of the box.

2.Victory cries:Along with having a .wav play when you were killed or injured,you would also say increasingly viscious things as you fragged others.Gets that adrenaline pumping

3.Money:Even though money has been used by other games,running to the local Pawn shop when you were low on resources made for an interesting dynamic.Buy that crowbar from the bum for a dollar,then beat him up with it to get that dollar back!

4.Bagman:The Kingpin version of CTF,I found the best aspect of the game online.With money falling in a neutral section of a map,gangs would compete to filling their vaults.So instead of having one flag to worry over,suddenly EVERYONE was capeable of contributing to the team winning simultaniously...by grabbing the fallen loot,defending the base or loot carriers,raiding opposing vaults for moneybags and killing any enemy for their loot.And for the team oriented player tired of tracking who had what flag and where,it was a goldmine of fun.

Kingpin still has a loyal following and modmaking base today.It's worth tracking down...

A great third person perspective shooter in its own right,with bright visuals and clever weaponry,this also is a fine addition to the oldschool game library.Magic themed,you had both defensive and offensive abilities based on a mana system,and the best hand to hand weapon ever to grace a shooter:the bladestaff.And if there are still servers out there for it,expect most to be Bladestaff duels only.And best of all it was co-op too.

i loved kingpin.. i never played multiplayer, but i had a blast playing sp
people still play it? hmm i bet thats bargain bin stylin right there....
