Mouse effecting Q2 frames?

So how does this "direct mouse input" r1q2 feature work? If I have it disabled when I press mouse4 and mouse5 I get a short fps loss and some stuttering each time the button is clicked. If I turn on that direct mouse feature the problem goes away however I get a new problem. After about 10 seconds of action Q2 becomes unplayable with non stop stuttering and frame loss. I have related this issue with the mouse for when the direct mouse feature is off I never have the problem... is there any other commands to fix this? This is the feature in r1q2 that has disabled, buffered and immediate settings. I use immediate to fix the mouse4, mouse5 issue. Buffering totally fucks up my mouse if I use that setting.

reading the r1q2 forum the problem seems like it has to do with those cl_async 1, cl_maxfps and r_maxfps commands. as when I action increases I move the mouse more / fire more and my netgraph begins to get little spikes and my frames drop incredibly. so... I guess I have to find a cl_maxfps value that fits? default suggestion is 30... I think I set it to 60 thinking it had to do with my fps... this may cause the issue? where are you config guru's at.

I'd use cl_async 0 to negate the effect on the physics and FPS..
after this,
If you are using r1q2, and you have v_sync on (gl_swapinterval 1), then you should set the cl_maxfps setting to a value that is nearly the same as the best monitor refresh rate that you can attain (and or Force) using the hardware that you have.
If you can only get your monitor to run about 60hz, then try a value of 61 for your cl_maxfps.
If you can get 75hz out of the monitor, try 72 or 76 for the cl_maxfps.
These values seem to make q2 about as smooth as I've ever seen it, on various mid-level machines..
the r_maxfps isn't used (or defaults to a certain value, IDK) if cl_async is 0.
try these and let me know if they make any differnce in the behavior you are seeing.
(the above settings seem to work for me, regardless of the mouse input settings, but for the record I use:
"set m_directinput 1" in my config)
