Santher (me) as a jumpmod admin?

Hello.

I would like to be admin lvl 6 (or more? ) of jumpmod server.
I know admin commands (learned a bit on my local serer) .

So, who saying yes, who no, and why?

Why do you want to be admin?

Most of the 'broken' maps have now been 'fixed' or deleted.

You know how long I spend on the jump server and apart from a very few situations where perhaps a player needs to be silenced for spamming or reconnecting to exceed vote limit I see no need for an admin as the players in the server usually sort this out amongst themselves with the inbuilt voting setup.

In my experience the people who have to ASK for admin privileges are usually the ones who really should NOT have it.

Convince us.  Apart from the fact that you know a few admin commands, why should you be admin?

Maybe i'm that good how you are or maybe just better?, if i'll not have never admin priv. then we will never know this. But it's not the point.

It can be only temporary for some time.

Santher I don't know any admin commands.  I have no interest in or desire to be an admin.

I do have a small interest in who is going to admin this server.   I'm not saying that you shouldn't be an admin I'm just asking a fair question, why do you want it?

I don't see much need for the admins we already have.  As far as I can see they do very little, which is a good thing.

It seems like there are two questions we are trying to answer here: 

  1. does jumpmod need another admin?

  2. is santher a good candidate?

So far no-one's had anything negative to say about santher here, which means maybe he is a good candidate.

What about question #1 though?

Yes, i just readed this policy and i think that is ok. As everybody can see - even admins don't have a lot power so what bad can i do?.

1. does jumpmod need another admin?

I'm playing on server very often, and I know that there are some maps which should be repaired and I can do this. One simple reason.

And second: one good admin more is always better, than one good admin less ;-)
I'm a good admin?, I don't know, i wanna see.

2. is santher a good candidate?

I can't answer for this question.
It will be better when other players of TastySpleen answer for this question what do they think about me as admin.

either way, this guy must have steel balls and an iron will to shrug off toxicmonkey so easily.
he definitely sounds like a pretty sane jump-mod player, and even though his english isn't amazing, I think he could definitely help out, in the same sort of capacity that merc does, if he is willing to abide by the rules and if nobody can find some sinister motive behind this request (ie.. toxic shittalks him constantly and he's planning on muting him all day, every day..)

this is purely the opinion of a person who doesn't play jumpmod, but who has had dealings with some of it's most vocal and obnoxious players.

Well, santher seems to be a sober-minded jumpmod player, at least I've never seen something inadequate from him. Sounds like he can be a sane admin. That's my opinion for second question, nevertheless I can't bet my sweet arse on it 

The first question is harder to answer. As fair as I know, the jumpmod admins - salamander, merc, and me - were pretty busy lately. Maybe I've missed something on the jumpmod server, but I personally used to tell my icq uin and aim screename to let players message me if a map needs some sort of fixing. Whatever. I've seen no messages since most maps were fixed, except merc's and Toxic's, lawl. But maybe santher wants to fix the newly added maps, including his own.

So, yes, lets see if he's a good one.

Then I want my admin 2 back,since I have been here before all of you.Sadly at the start it was me and Haunted.But thats all forgotten.My only whine was people getting admin that had only played on the server and were unknown.I do still like merc/salamader and lohmatiy as admins though.But saying that,those 3 are rarely on nowadays.

Eh?  You're still listed as admin 2 in admin.cfg.  Did you forget your password?
