Whatcha Look Like?

I am really not sure how that constitutes a handicap or why I should switch
straight to keyboard and say hell with the mouse.

How far do you have to move your hand to select any weapon you want?

I j00se the esdf keys for movement... not coincidentally, this puts my left hand in "home" position for touch typing... I find this handy when chatting.

But with both wasd and esdf, one can bind the surrounding keys to specific weapons, which can be selected without having to move your arm at all.

I use:

 e - forward
 d - back
 s - strafe left
 f - strafe right
 
 z - hyperblaster
 x - railgun
 c - grenade launcher
 v - rocket launcher
 g - pineapples !!!

ive always used the arrow keys, ill never brake the habit 

all my weapons are on my mouse:
mouse2 = rocket
mouse3 = rail
mwheeldown= supershotgun, chaingun
mwheelup =weapnext
i jump with enter, crouch with ctrl and walk with shift.. sucks when i switch to a game with alot of commands, but then i usually use the keypad (which is where my q2 weapon drops are)

up arrow-move forward
down arrow-back
right arrow- sidestep right
left arrow-sidestep left
 mouse wheel up is to go through my weapons
mouse wheel down is go through inventory
I bound ctrl to rail-easy to reach

And sometimes I even use 1-0 to pull out a weapon if no ones around to shoot me.

E (brings up the score, to see whos on, and whos getting owned. usually me getting owned, if im playing 1vs1 dm)
F (crouch) mouse2 (jump. had to make it an jump button, while daelmun was teaching me speed jumping) mouse1 (shoot) mouse3 (use item) mwheelup/dn (scroll through inventory)

also got binds all over my keyboard, i end up pressing them on mistake.

all youse arrow key users need a big slap upside yo heads
why play with a handicap
might as well just go 100 percent keyboard and say to hell with the mouse
not using the wasd keys and their neighboring q,e,r,f,z,c,& v keys is ridiculous
it is akin to a person choosing to die cuz their religion doesn't allow blood transfusions
morons deserve death and arrow users need to wake up or you peeps deserve losses in q2

Well, Instead of having those keys "q, e, r, f, z, c, v"
i have: "insert, home, pgup, delete, end, pgdn, kp_home, kp_leftarrow, kp_end, kp_ins, ctrl, shift, enter"
all of those keys are in close reach from the arrow keys .... I fail to see the handicap.

you guys are gunna think im a total retard, but here goes
i was hoping you guys could help me rework my setup aswell
this is most likly why i suck so bad 


uparrow: forward
downarrow: back
leftarrow: strafe right
rightarrow: strafe left
shift: walk
ctrl: quick nade
1-0 weapon keys and - key for nades

mouse1: shoot
mouse2: jump (double jump alias)
mouse3: duck
mouse4: zoom
mouse5: hook (for mods that use it)
mwheelup: best weapon, shotgun, ssg, mg, cg
mwheeldown: best weapon, nades, GL, RL, RG, BFG

also uses inverted mouse and a sensitivity of 8
and a fov of 115 and centre handness

Haha, that was my first thought when i saw that photo.  "another arrow key user, just like element!"  hehe

Actually the reason why Rob (Element) uses the arrow keys ... like myself is simply because he use's my father's config's though he could have modified them a little bit. :-)
